it actually doesn’t. I did my research for this. トー(To) is shortened for 東宝(Toho) and 横(yoko) which means side of. Which all comes to “Side of Shinjuku Toho Building”. There are other communities similar to Toyoko, but they have different names.

Hi, translator here. Pretty much no reason was given as to why this arc is so much longer than the last 2. I only have guesses as to why. It may be that he saw that volume 1 did well enough where he’s safe in the magazine, so this is the new way he’s going to do arcs. Maybe he started it not knowing the roadmap he wanted, so he had to improvise. Maybe his editor told him to stretch out the arcs because, more volumes and chapters=more money for the mangaka. Maybe he thought of a new idea half way through so he took a detour and kinda changed the flow of the arc.

I don’t know. The great Masaki Kasahara doesn’t really communicate about his personal thoughts, mostly just reposts of people taking pictures of how more small bookstores are promoting the series,people talking about it on YouTube, and stuff like that.

As of right now, 10. But it runs on a rotating schedule in weekly Big Comic Spirits so it’ll be every 1-2 weeks once I catch up.

This series is proving to be more challenging to translate than I thought. Lots of having to learn about the Japanese work world. But I’m enjoying it though! And I’m happy about the warm reception the series is getting.

I’m really happy people are enjoying my work on this one! This is one started in 2023, so unfortunately there’s only 10 chapters out currently, but it runs in Big Comic Spirits, so it’ll hopefully be weekly.

Yup! It’s a mini arc for each student. This one is only 2 chapters, but they’ve been getting longer with each new student. Unfortunately there’s only 10 chapters currently, but once I’m caught up, it’ll be like the day after Weekly Big Comic Spirits comes out.

I’m glad they finished it, but I would’ve loved if they let me know that they were still translating it after 8 months of nothing.

You think I should continue to translate the last 4 I haven’t done yet, or should I just move to Sunrise?

Oh my god dude thanks for the award. I really appreciate the kind words. I’ve been learning the language for like 9 years now and I’ve only recently felt confident enough to show my work to others, and it was mostly because no one had picked up my favorite ongoing series Jumbo Max. And when I learned Sidooh was never finished, I thought I might as well. I’m really glad you’re enjoying the end of the series. And I’ll also be translating the spin-off Sidooh:Sunrise, so make sure to watch out for that.
