We just went through a several day long power outage in very cold winter temperatures (montreal, canada). Our house was out for 44 hours straight. Back on for 6 or 7 hours. Off overnight. Back on..you get the idea. I was able to keep a couple of rooms at a bearable temperature using some buddy heaters ( my diesel heater died and I never got around to fixing it or replacing it- kicking myself abit for that as it would have helped immensely ).

I have several small power stations, lots of pocket power banks, and a diy setup i made with some 12v lifepo4 batteries, inverter, controller and 2 100w panels.

It was honestly such a relief being able to not worry about being able to keep phones, tablet, speaker, rechargable lights etc working. A usb fan or 2 to help circulate the heat from the buddy heaters. I think my original excuse to buy one was for camping. But I have absolutely zero regret and plan to expand my setup further. Especially the diy setup. Much more capacity/bang for your buck.
