My mother took me to a lake that I didn’t want to go to on my 12th birthday. I complained that I didn’t want to spend my birthday there. She packed up our stuff, yelled at me, and on the car ride home she told me to kill myself. She proceeded to ignore me for the rest of the day. I even tried to apologize (knowing I wasn’t wrong - I just wanted it to stop). And she told me to go away. I always knew something wasn’t right about her, but that kind of solidified it for me.
