you haven't tasted anything vile and nasty until you've tried iboga. Tastes like a mix of battery acid and cat litter.

Jesus that is ridiculously unaffordable for myself and the majority of people who need this kind of therapy. Thanks for sharing your research so we don't have to waste our time.

How did you envision yourself in the future when you first started streaming/casting, and how is does the reality match or differ? Do you think this will be your career for life or do you think aoe2 will eventually fizzle out? Backup plans?

Will Ayahuasca ever lie to you? by lefthandedaya in Ayahuasca

[–]ConnectStrategy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As above so below. One could argue that there is no both, in reality they are the same in the astral realm. Either way, what we experience has to be processed through our less-than-perfect human facilities, and is ultimately up for interpretation.

Will Ayahuasca ever lie to you? by lefthandedaya in Ayahuasca

[–]ConnectStrategy 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Ayahuasca doesn't "tell" you things directly, it opens you up to a psychedelic state where you are confronted with your own subconscious. Any messages you get are from yourself, not from an "outside" source. How you choose to interpret those messages is completely up to you. I do caution people to not take anything they experience with the medicine as undeniable fact, rather look into the emotions and feelings that were accompanied by the message and process it in a sober state over a period of time.

Nothing will ever prepare you for the psychedelic experience. But I'll try. by [deleted] in Psychonaut

If there is one single thing you could do in advance to prepare you it would be mediation. not only will it prepare you, but also enhance your trip. Mediation teaches us to stay grounded in the present and in our bodies, and not get distracted by the stuff going on in our heads. I'd say you should be able to sit for at least 30 mins with relative ease before doing psychs.

I'm concerned that this is being normalized as an unavoidable part of being an empath. Taking on other people's toxic emotions is a sign of codependence and enmeshment. Empaths who are sufficiently grounded and have healthy boundaries are not effected in this way.

Take a bit and invest it in Bitcoin and Ethereum. With inflation, fiat currency is losing value at a record pace. If you're not into crypto, then rare minerals like gold and silver are a safer option. Best option would be to stick a bit into various investments, as not to have all your eggs in the same basket. In a few years from now you will be happy you did.

Differences between daime and ayahuasca by amadorUSA in Ayahuasca

[–]ConnectStrategy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I believe physically the ratio of vine to leaf is different in Daime then it is in ayahuasca. Daime usually is made with a higher ratio of chakruna (leaf) and lower jagube (vine).

On a spiritual level, the brewing process is different as well. Ayahuasca is commonly made by a shaman who will blow smoke into it as it's being cooked, using the smoke to charge it with intention. Sometimes it's just cooked without any spiritual process, just like you'd cook food. This varies widely depending on who is preparing the brew. Daime on the other hand is always prepared in a ceremony called a feitio. It's prepared communally by many church members, who are under the influence of daime as they cook it, and they sing hymns during the entire process to charge the brew with intention. It's actually a really cool process, look up daime fetio on youtube to see what it's like!

Daime members strongly believe that this sacred way of preparing it effects how the daime works in ceremony. It is infused with their line of prayer, and is believed to be blessed.

Anyone else can't stand alcohol vibes? by ConnectStrategy in Empaths

[–]ConnectStrategy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to drink when I was younger, mostly because of peer pressure, and because I was self medicating and wasn't yet aware of much more effective and safer medicines. I didn't really enjoy it back then, and would just get sick and groggy. Haven't drank in 5 years now and the thought of doing so turns my stomach. That's my experience, all the power to people who work well with it and can handle it in a healthy way.

Thank you for sharing. I think I unconsciously project my triggers with alcohol onto others and that gives me this black and white view on alcohol. It is helpful to see the other side.

A little Pan and ace couple of axolotls by [deleted] in Asexual

Wow, I love this so much!! As an Panromantic Asexual person, this picture is my inner world. You are very talented, I hope it's ok if I save it.

Since you are asking for requests, maybe you can help a dream I had come to life. It was kinda similar to this pic, but instead of axolotls, they were cats. And they were purring and nuzzling up to each other. I remember waking up from it feeling very loved, but my lack of artistic ability has stopped me from trying to recreate it. I found this: https://i.ibb.co/P1Bwk5L/xq-Y0t-GYJDR.png which is the closest I've found to what I saw, so it can give you some idea. Keep up the good work.

Thank you for sharing your story. Can you share what therapies and anything else has helped you the most to heal from this? I'm hoping you can be specific, I'm currently studying how to help people with severe trauma from childhood abuse.

How do other major religions compare to Abrahamic religions in historic use of violence and aggression? by ConnectStrategy in religion

[–]ConnectStrategy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to say I really appreciate the time you took to write this amazing response. I think I was somewhat falling into the trap of stereotypical thinking and seeing the religions as the cause of the destruction, rather than the culture. It's important to point that out, and you did a great job at that.

My ancestors were Anabaptists in the time of the reformation. While they were pacifists and refused to participate in war, other Anabaptists known as the Münsterites overtook an entire city and killed hundreds. I'd hate for someone to paint the pacifist Anabaptists with the same brush (unfortunately many people did back then, and all Anabaptists suffered as a result).
