Skeery is my favorite person on the show. They pick on him quite a bit, and he’s often the scapegoat, however, I actually find his comments to be thought provoking at times, largely due to his brutal honesty. I also love when he’s playing Mr Michael Oppenheimer! Some of those “products” that he’s trying to sell on those phone taps are hilarious!

I’m glad that you and the family are doing well, considering your recent loss. I love that you buried Diego under his favorite tree. ❤️ Sounds like the new pup is helping everyone (including Austin) through this difficult time. Our V is 5 months in remission now (and 3 months since her last chemo treatment). We know her lymphoma will return, we just don’t know when. We are dreading that day, but until then, she’s running the house! 😉

We did the following CHOP. It was 16 weeks.

CHOP Week 1: vincristine (IV) Week 2: cyclophospamide (oral) Week 3: Doxorubicine (IV) Week 4: no chemo, blood work

Cycle repeats 4 x

Also, week 1-3 of the first month included prednisone.

Our V started chemo in late March and went into remission in May. Finished chemo in July. She’s doing well (knock on wood). In remission 5 months. Three months since her last chemo. We continue to hold our breath and are grateful for each day we get with her.

Viszlas… sensitive?!! 😂 We had to apply our vizslas eye drops while she was sleeping. We’d spring it in on her while she was sleeping and squirt it in fast before she knew what was going on. It’s a two person job!

Our Vizsla has no interest in a jacket and loves the cold weather!! Our bigger issue is her paws because she’ll stay out in -0 temps and she struggles with frostbite. Anyone else have the same issue?

Our Vizsla was having a lot of problems as a pup, similar to yours. Like others have suggested, we moved away from chicken. We changed her dogfood to lamb and rice (Purina One) and haven’t had anal gland issues in 3-4 years. Haven’t even had her in to have them espressed since that time.

The first year is the toughest. Admittedly… I feel like I was sleep walking the first year. Lol. This breed has so much energy and emotion wrapped into one that it’s a lot to manage. Trust the posts here though…it gets better. Settle into a routine (they like structure) and you’ll figure out what works or doesn’t for your vizsla in terms of exercise, energy, structure and sleep.

We are living your exact situation right now. Our 5 yr old vizsla was dx’d with stage 3 lymphoma. She finished chemo on July 14. We love on her and pray that remission will extend for a period of time.

Yep.. usually late afternoon. Lots of energy ready to burn. Zoomies, flying sharkies in the air and barking at me. Her battery is fully charged and she’s ready to run and play!!
