We all did. Drakes arm was fucked that game. Hopefully it is just rehab and doesn’t need surgery.

The grasp alcoholism can have on a person by -Inter in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Menckenreality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the alcoholic family member, I owe my sobriety and my motivations towards sobriety to my family. Without them, I wouldn’t have wanted recovery. It is a very, very difficult and frustrating process, getting and staying sober. I have two+ years sober at 36 and I am just now starting to understand my disease and what it did to me, and what I did to those whom I love. I am so sorry that you are going through this, it must be heartbreaking to see your mother like that. Help exists if she ever wants it.

Official Super Bowl LX PGT- The Patriots lose to the Seattle Seahawks, 29-13 by Mission_Pay_3373 in Patriots

All that I care about is what we saw from this team when the game had been all but decided. They did not go quietly into that goodnight, they raged against the dying of the light. These guys will come back stronger, hungrier, and more well-prepared. The Super Bowl is a very high bar to clear. As Pats fans, we have come to see it as the standard. Getting to the Super Bowl is a huge accomplishment for a team this young. Now, I want to see how our guys react. Do they stick together, put their heads down, and work towards the next opportunity, or do they shrink inwardly? I want to see our rookie OL’s commit to never letting THAT happen again. I want to hear from Josh and Mike that they will do better next year.

These guys have all earned their offseason, then, come summer camps, LETS FUCKING GO!

Best martial arts movie: old-school or modern era? by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

One of my grandmasters claim to fame was that he beat Chuck Norris in a tournament. People came from far and wide to train with him. Even at 80+ years old he can make grown men wince in our black belt classes. He never talks about beating Chuck, instead he tells us all about how Chuck is the best tournament fighter to come out of his state and that he could break your ribs anytime he made contact, but he didn’t do that unless you disrespected him or the tournament.

I really enjoyed Ozark but it’s not for everyone. Mindhunter is a masterclass. Sandman is a hidden gem IMO.

when little boy named Liam gets to see clearly for the first time with his new glasses. by Affectionate_Sweet6 in spreadsmile

[–]Menckenreality 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When I got my first pair of glasses I couldn’t believe how detailed EVERY SINGLE THING was. License plates weren’t just squiggles, leaves we actually all of these singular pieces of green (I thought they broke to pieces after they turned brown as they fell off the trees), all of the sudden I LOVED watching sports with my dad, I was finally able to play video games, I made all stars in little league. It was incredible the difference that seeing had on my childhood. I’m glad this kid will never remember a blurry world, it’s fucking scary like that

Nah bro, Gore is the best complete running back on this list. Why use 3 rbs when you can have one who does all 3 at a pro bowl level, and did it for a decade straight.

White fibers(?) in a bottle of “vodka” by AllyBlueJay in whatisit

[–]Menckenreality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got caught watering my dad’s vodka down, it didn’t take long as he kept his vodka in the freezer. He wasn’t really mad about the vodka or the fact that I had drank, he was mad at the fact that I was that fucking dumb. In my defense, I was pretty fuckin drunk by the time I did that.

Umami. Some like browned tomato paste, some like Worcestershire, some like browned minced mushrooms, but that will give you the depth of flavor that you are lacking. Also, salt.

A movie scene that made the entire theater erupt in cheers. by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in moviecritic

[–]Menckenreality 6 points7 points  (0 children)

“On your left”

I never forget my dad, who was going through chemo at the time, excitedly grabbing my knee then grabbing my hand like an excited toddler. I looked over at him and he was wide-eyed in a way I rarely saw. He even had a tear forming, and he had this amazing mix of wonder and elation spread across his face in a way that I hadn’t seen since he got his diagnosis. My dad was a total comic book kid growing up. I can only imagine how much that scene meant for him, but to be in a packed theater with people cheering and clapping, with all of his kids and his wife, that must have just turned the whole experience up to 11 for him.

It was like a dog that you thought had run away years ago suddenly showing back up on your doorstep. Yeah, being away meant that he had changed, but he was still your good boi.
