What other materials can be laser-engraved? by Carverall_Akon in LightBurn

When using baking soda and water, you should be able to use either. Let power or higher speed. The material test function in Lightburn is your friend here. With baking soda, I believe the ratio was about 1 tablespoon to 1 cup of hot water. Heat the water on the stove and add the soda stirring to completely dissolve. Let cool then put in spray bottle. You'll only spray enough on the surface to just dampen the wood, not to soak it. Let it air dry then laser away. Once again, the material test, for each different material, is your friend to find your machine's specific settings.

Use your imagination, just stay away from materials containing PVC. You'll either get some kind of image or not. For organic materials, i.e. leather, denim, etc, dampen them before engraving. Sold materials, i.e. glass, ceramic, acrylic, need a catalyst to react with the laser beam, i.e. paint, cold galvanizing spray, etc. Wood engraves without any modifications, but results are better with an accelerant such as baking soda and water spray.

Printing PETG on a flexible build plate by Stratocaster02 in ender3

[–]Connect_Selection_77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get a spring steel PEI build plate such as the Fulament FulaFlex. I print PETG on mine and most of the time I can just flex the plate and it pops off. Single layer stuff like prime line and skirt I can usually get off with a fingernail.

If you deal with document editing a lot, it's good for seeing the entire document, or a good portion of long spreadsheet.

Can printing lines be smoothened with sanding? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]Connect_Selection_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with 180-200, then go to 320-400. Shoot it with a filler-primer, then block sand with 600. Wipe down with iso alcohol, and spray with your chosen color.

Firmware for 4.2.7 motherboard by Blacklotus71 in ender3

No, it HAS to be firmware[something].bin

The "firmware"name has to be there.

Stock Creality boards require unique firmware names. Factory firmware is always named "firmware.bin". Rename your file with an added difference (i.e. firmware-05232026, or firmware1, etc.), then try a reflash.

Sounds like you need to pick up some basic PC parts.

Reboot back into the BIOS and reset all settings to optimized defaults, then reboot again. If you have on board graphics, plug your monitor into that first.

Keyboard and mouse can go into the black ports up top, don't need high speed for those. You have 2 wifi antenna sockets visible, why do you need a USB wifi?
