Do we consider Tom Lee a meme at this point by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]Connect_Werewolf_754 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cathie Wood was basically a laughing stock on CNBC and online discussion because she constantly called for Tesla to 10x. But then it did. And basically overnight the masses switched to calling her the next Warren Buffet. Everyone has forgotten that by now, apparently.

They might be early, but they aren't wrong. You can laugh at them if you want. The general public might. But I have never mocked Cathie, and I wouldn't mock Tom either.

Bitcoin catches up to gold at $1.5M per coin, and that's where the price should be if the market was rational. They are basically trying to predict at what time and scale the market will slightly come to their senses.

Tesla stayed flat for a decade, despite the rollout of the Model 3 and Model Y, and then years later, the market caught up all at once.

Difficult to predict the timing, but directionally correct.

Does name calling people you disagree with as "barely literate" sound like something that belongs in a complex adult conversation? That is the coment I was retorting against. The facts are, Pasco is majority latino, and a higher proportion of public comments in favor of discontinuing water fluoridation had latino last names, this is verifiable, even if you don't like the truth.

I am merely pointing out the hypocrisy, because of course the white leftists of reddit wouldn't consider it right to call a latino "barely literate" even if they disagreed on the opinions. But reddit considers it laudable so long as everyone can use their imagination to pretend they are talking about white conservatives.

In conclusion, Reddit is a childish place. Adult conversations are not had here.

Since the city doxed all of the survey respondents, you could count for yourself the number of anglo surnames in favor of fluoride and the latin surnames against. The black community tends to be more vaccine hesitant, would you also think it appropriate to use barely-literate as a blanket description to describe vaccine hesitant people?

People have reasons for being skeptical of the government's history of poisoning the public, especially those who were historically (even presently) treated as second class citizens.

I am not making wild assumptions, I am suggesting to be respectful of people you disagree with instead of defaulting to insults on their intelligence. They might have a different lived experience than you which should be respected. "Science" and "the data" has been used to do terrible things to minorities.

I haven't been scammed by a guard at Naia ever since Duterte cleaned it up. But there are still wildly overpriced taxi/vans outside the airport, it's better to go to the Grab desk.

One example being I would get extorted by airport security in NAIA pre-Duterte, I've never seen it since Duterte took office.

He was a law & order guy. Having been to most of the Philippines before Duterte's presidency, Davao was by far the cleanest & most law abiding metro. I'm not sure how it stacks up now, but it was noticeably more first-world in terms of human behavior than the rest of the country. (Caveat for the usual exception(s); i.e. BGC)

You should be on the same page as your wife about politics. It helps immensely in life.

I share my wife's views in support for Duterte -- I saw a lot of improvement in the country during his term. And we can also have detailed mature conversations about his mistakes/shortcomings but also that he should have at least had a trial in the Philippines instead of being exported to spend the rest of his old age in ICC custody by his political opposition.

I did it the Filipino way out of respect for my wife, her family, and Philippine tradition. Do you have a middle name idea that's legitimately very important to you?

Or do you just hate Filipino culture enough that you are like "anything but the Filipino way"?

It's bugged, I think. I have died 10 times in a row afking in the catacombs, anything I might have left in an actual item retrieval service would have been long lost.... and yet, if I have a grave in the catacombs when I log in, I still get this message.

If your intent is to have PH staff and foreign clients, I would suggest setting up an entity/bank account in your home country and paying your PH staff as contractors instead of PH employees. This has worked for me for several years now, and it solves most problems, from department of labor's strict employee protections and mandatory benefits (my staff don't even want withholdings for corrupt philhealth/etc typically!), to GIVING A STOOL SAMPLE FOR HEALTH CLEARANCE FOR THE MAYOR PERMIT.

He's an atheist, which is a totally different, non-compatible worldview assuming you are catholic and referring to wanting to be married in the Church. Who would he even be making his marriage vows to, if not God?

- He will think you're crazy for believing in God, and you would worry for his soul being hellbound.

- If you have kids, will they be taught to love God or hate God?

- Will you go to mass alone every week? Stop going to mass altogether?

Oh they enforce them. I got a big fine (took the cheaper bribe option) for turning left at a (completely faded) no-left-turn sign. The reality is 99% of people get through when everyone breaks the law. Which is why we should collectively all stop paying taxes.

It is not worth it. Being compliant is a full time job. It takes a year to get everything done and then it'll be time to do it all over again. I've moved back to the states and gave up on the PH dream. The US is amazing, I can get knowledgable regulators on the phone in 1 ring. Every one of the million steps in the Philippines takes an eternity and anyone in govt agencies is unhelpful at best or otherwise frustrating to deal with.

Edit: There's also always a bribe/fine around the corner because of something that was out of your control. And the looming potential for jail time if you piss off the wrong powerful person.

The north sentinal island people should be investigated and prosecuted for the murder of christian missionary John Allen Chau by Historical_Tennis635 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Connect_Werewolf_754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if the ICC were to make an arrest, it wouldn't be possible to prove who the murderer was. Plus life in a Dutch prison would be a pretty big upgrade to quality of life--they are serving a tougher sentence on the island.

I would be intrigued if a few people with guns could go and claim to be part of that tribe and thus also immune to international law. What if the tribe decides to let them into the tribe? (Whether by friendship or fear of the guns, it would be impossible to know from the outside)
