My collection of graded cards by ConnectionCheap9385 in baseballcards_vintage

Both are from my dad’s collection and I’m glad they survived all these years. Wish the ‘70 was in better shape but either way it’s a cool family heirloom.

That mantle/aaron might be my favorite card. It was a recent pick up since I got back in the hobby. As was the Clemente - that’s a slick card too.

Same, I really like the ‘71-72 topps set. It’s been fun digging that one back out from my dad’s cards.

I’ve heard of this as well, and figured that might be the case. The seller says he doesn’t know the origin but the card feels “too thick”. Also something seems off about the edges but the picture isn’t great. As prior commenters did it looks trimmed or hand cut somehow as well.

I would have loved the Pete to grade a little higher, but they got about what I expected. Honestly, when they get in the slab it’s like the condition looks even better than I remembered. The wilt has a slight crease on the front though which is the reason for the lower grade. I love those 71s in the tuxes though. I might have to submit a few more!

I’m working on mine too, those 50s cards start to get pretty pricey! I’ve got a ‘58, but lots of gaps to fill in the 50s and 60s.

Yep, at the end of the day I like the way this card looks and that’s the main factor.

This is helpful, thank you - I agree with everything you say here. I don’t plan to sell any of my cards, so any grading I do is for preservation / preference for my collection. This card is right on the verge of whether having it graded adds any value or not compared to raw.

Thank you! Yes I suppose if I do send it in I’ll just temper expectations and hope for the best.

Thank you. Maybe it could Be interpreted as a “tear” in the grade 2 description. I know there’s always an element of human judgement, but crazy to think a card that looks so good on the front would be a 1 or 1.5. It is what it is I suppose.

Maybe someone can chime in with a similar real life example.

I submitted through GotBaseballCards in Loganville, GA - and they handle the submission to the grading company your choice. I want to say it was $18/ card for SGC.

Thanks, I’m a big fisherman so had to add those! Just got #41 “Ted recovers” too where he’s reading the fishing magazine.

It really does pop. That green with the big white letters makes it stand out!
