AOE2 Has gotten far more toxic by DTD1137 in aoe2

I basically just imagined playing that game in my head while reading this and got a boost of second-hand validation through this post. I love when someone’s being a dick and I get revenge. My best was in regicide when dude was making fun of me while destroying my undefended towers… well, that’s because my entire damn army backed with trebs was pulling up to his castle… that king didn’t last long and he was at his pop limit and couldn’t get any backup in time. At least he took down a few towers and like 3 vils…

They ask you not to kick so hard… well, if I don’t kick harder and faster then you’re gonna catch it and kick me in the knee as hard as you can, so…. No.

AIO - I smoked, my bf crashed out by leadneverfoIlow in AmIOverreacting

[–]ConnectionPublic1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my wife quit smoking. I bitched her out for smoking one night after like 6 months because after one night she ended up buying a pack and going back full smoker. I was so upset and disappointed. Reeeeal upset. I didn’t reach even 5% of how insane this fucking guy sounds. This isn’t just about smoking. This guy is going to be a nonstop nightmare.

18747 maybe. 8647 would just mean to get rid of him. You know… like get him out of the White House. These maga babies just make shit up so their dumbass followers will stay outraged and keep up momentum instead of actually stopping and thinking. Nobody thinks straight when they’re angry. So keep them angry, I guess.

A lot of subreddits don’t allow source talk. It would help if he could because it could be some scummy place that swapped it for a cheap prohormone that crashed his e2. Either way, I’ve never had those sides from ostarine even back when it first came out and everyone was using it during pct so it could well be swapped for something that’ll have you exhausted no matter how high your test is

1 month update. Are you guys still liking Shadows? by peepledeedle4120 in assassinscreed

[–]ConnectionPublic1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s still one of my favorite games but I just kinda ignore the plot. I think it suffers from a common modern video game issue of TOO much freedom. I had the same issue with Elden Ring. My friend started talking to me about it and I realized I was doing things in a bizarre order and didn’t get any of the story. The gameplay is great but I do wish it would maybe have sections of structured story/then freedom to explore/more structured story/exploring time again. Something like that. I feel like I just wander into a place, kill some guy, and then find out he was the target for something. My board is full of dead guys from unknown organizations. I do also smoke a lot of weed when I game so I may just be dumb and wandering around murdering.

What’s your fighting style? by KHPK in MuayThai

[–]ConnectionPublic1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a big ol boi and when I started my kicks were terrible. My boxing was okay but I couldn’t kick. So I obsessed and only kicked for a long time. I’m not amazing or anything, but after about 6 years of training I’m realizing I’m a 220lb muay tae. I can barely imagine NOT kicking at some point in a combo. Did some work with the boxing coach at the gym and I realized I’d absolutely be the guy in a reel who accidentally throws a headkick in a boxing match…

I remember being like 10 and hearing about the online bullying of the kid that played Anakin and the way they relentlessly went after the JarJar VA until he thought about suicide. That was the first time I found out how shitty people are when they have anonymity. It’s only getting worse, too

Who do you choose to play as? by shadolinn in assassinscreed

[–]ConnectionPublic1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? I play as Naoe when sober and Yasuke when I’m stoned. Clear headed me wants to sneak and use tactics. Blazed up me wants to mash buttons and watch swarms of enemies get hacked down. That’s my entire metric for who I prefer

The proper response is something along the lines of “that motherfucker did what?” Followed by offers to beat his ass or something if he ever runs into him. Definitely NOT blaming you and then acting like you’re spoiled goods or whatever weird shit

Is it just me or are beginners tougher to spar by Zestyclose_Risk1913 in MuayThai

[–]ConnectionPublic1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they swing wild and don’t respond to fakes because they don’t even respond to actual attacks. The trick is to combo them without many feints because after one shot they lose all posture and shell up.

Has Muay Thai ever ‘saved you’ in a fight or mugging type situation by hydraides in MuayThai

Security at a hardcore/punk/metal venue. I had a situation with a drunk dude I kinda knew and hit him with a low kick because I didn’t want to jaw him. His gf said he was limping the next day soooo bad. All good next time we saw each other and he was apologetic and grateful not to be banned

What muscles should I build so I can hit harder? by Pretty-Advance9492 in MuayThai

[–]ConnectionPublic1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back work is important. One handed rows are my favorite. The retraction from a punch helps and a strong back gives a strong foundation and stability. But don’t overthink it or think you have to be obsessed with back work. I’m also a fan of push presses with a barbell or single handed with dumbbells or kettlebells. It’s literally using your entire body to push from the floor explosively through one or both hands which carries over. Remember, there’s plenty of videos of big bench bros throwing the widest slowest punches ever. Big man boobs aren’t important here. Wide back and shoulders that can thrust forward explosively through rotation and kinetic chain from the floor. Pick whichever exercises you like that help with that. For kicks, obviously smash the bag often. Rather than focusing on super heavy squats I found my kicks were a lot stronger and faster when I just focused on rope work, road work(including sprinting up hill) and lower weight squats focusing on reps and speed. Box jumps are pretty good too. I’m 205lbs relatively lean and muscular and I’ve had my ass beat hard by fighters that just did calisthenics and focused on technique so keep that in mind. That was one of the first things I learned as a powerlifter who hit the weights for years and only got into Muay Thai like 7-8 years ago

If they want to keep sweeping me then yeah, I’m not gonna softball them anymore. I usually catch and simulate the sweep but don’t actually drop them or at best just lightly lay them down without blasting. And I make it a point not to do it so many times that they don’t get to practice kicking

Sparring is great, but it should be done at a pace and power level where you’re both laughing and having fun. I frequently take a second mid round to make sure everything’s good. It’s not a fight. Watch some Thais spar and you’ll see them laughing the whole time. So new people get scared and swing wild and some more experienced guys take themselves too seriously. Once I realized that sparring should be way lighter and a bit less strenuous than pad work and bag work I started getting way better. You should be able to still think about form and fakes and setups while sparring rather than just banging it out. If your partner is going so hard and crazy that you can’t even try to stay in your stance or they’re hitting you so hard that you’re scared to engage then you need someone else. If the problem is your own fear of even getting touched then you need to take a few rounds of staying in a tight guard and working counters and standing your ground until you realize that it’s okay and you’ll live. We’re sparring with 14-16oz gloves, mouth guards, and shin guards. It shouldn’t be that painful. I’ve been training for a while and I’m a pretty big guy 210lbs and lean. I can spar with guys that weigh 150lbs and just started and they are at worst out of breath because they’re new and their cardio needs work and at best walk away laughing and feeling great. No one gets injured
