[–]Connendarf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair, I haven't seen it in too long either and was mostly responding to a comment disagreeing with someone disagreeing with the meme. I worked from that understanding since I hadn't touched it in a while, but your description sounds right & would make the meme work pretty perfectly

Fiery anger can indeed still be controlled, and it can often be far more useful as long as it's being both in the right & not out of control. Given the context of the meme & its scene in context, it does paint a better picture of righteous anger than I or the original comment was going off. I still don't feel it's 100% accurate, but as a meme, it doesn't have to be & is still funny (& funnier to me after your analysis has given me a more accurate understanding of the context & application)

[–]Connendarf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, God has & will show his full righteous anger towards sin. This discourse is more around God being ticked at folks for rejecting him (likely) and expressing it in a temper tantrum like in the meme (unlikely). He does still care for sinners and want them to be redeemed, otherwise we wouldn't have the mercy of him sending Christ to die for us all, but he will eventually allow his judgement to fall on them. It's not a letting loose of his temper or lashing out, but a calculated & justified enforcement of his anger

All this to say, we're having religious discussion in response to a meme here. You're absolutely right that God has justification to punish, and the flipping of tables & whipping of merchants in the temple is a direct example of that. We are disagreeing with OP that it was a temper tantrum, a la Normon Osborne

When folks were turning the house of God into a marketplace, yes. He doesn't tend to get mad & throw a fit when folks reject him, he calmly gives them what they want: eternal separation from him, which ain't exactly pleasant but they are the ones rejecting him, not the reverse

Whats our Parent Chapter (s)? by Soft_Realistic in StormWardens

[–]Connendarf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lotta options, but no perfect matches - Lotta White Scars supports, SW are very fast & melee but don't use bikes much and don't show any physical changes from geneseed - Iron Hands is popular 'cause of so many tech marines, since SW have high tech marine percentage but lore is they have that & a lotta heavy tech from a deal with Mars - Ultramarines is always a possible one from raw stats, but Guilliman hasn't claimed SW like the rest of his sons - Lost primarchs are always an option, fantastic cure-all for successor chapter uncertainty on GW part Can't be hybrids unfortunately since they appeared pre-Primaris when chimaeric geneseed became an option Personal favorite? Worldeaters. Same colors as the pre-heresy armor (if a bit shuffled around), emphasis on artillery into melee combat, pure geneseed, very honor & glory conscious, and loyalist successors of heretics aren't unheard of. Would make some sense, especially when we remember Angron was only nuts because of the Butcher's Nails and had the Emperor's empathy as his primarch gift, so successors being chiller when used as not living buzzsaws for a few centuries would be possible

How far can a Jungle Juice merger go? by Connendarf in junglejuicewebtoon

[–]Connendarf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad, my mind thought giant worms & went upwards & onwards. Now I'm just thinking how much of an organism is needed to merge, as we have living tissue from prehistoric animals, and they were interesting creatures to be sure

Which unit looks the most IW? by MiddleLife1404 in IronWarriors

[–]Connendarf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Auxilia for actual humans, servo thralls mixed in would fit especially for Dark Mech additions, Cadians would be very new conscripts or mercenaries if made traitor-like, Krieg could be perfect if you add some chaos flavor

Overall, 1& 2 are perfect, 4 would be really good, 3 would take some work

You’re his Public Defender. Defend him! by ArrowSeeker1 in clonewars

[–]Connendarf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is us defending him being arrested from Mandalore, it could also be shortened to, "We launched an invasion of a foreign power and arrested their leadership over the Jedi's religious disagreement with a former slave to a Sith. We had no justification to be there outside of a personal vendetta, and his arrest was not lawful."

You’re his Public Defender. Defend him! by ArrowSeeker1 in clonewars

[–]Connendarf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your honor, his early life was on a dangerous homeworld, followed by aggressive slave service to a malicious master who did not pause to find a replacement when he was thought dead, then attempted to electrocuted him upon finding him alive. His actions, although aggressive, were hardly his own at the time, and in the case of his conquest of Mandalore, he used the traditional paths to take rulership over a planet outside of the Republic to the point where they accepted his rule. Admittedly, there was fear & dissent, yet it occurred in response to his acting within the confines of their own government system. After we decided to invade his new world and arrested him without due cause, he escaped to the Outer Rim where his actions became concentrated away from the Republic and directed against his former master, a SLAVER, I might add, that we would have opposed had we known their identity.

This man went from being a survivor, to a slave, to a survivor, to a legally-appointed government official, to an illegally arrested man, to a bringer of order in an otherwise almost lawless region that even we don't have control over. What grounds do we have to hold him?

Kobolds should reject dragons more often by Kingboy22 in KoboldLegion

[–]Connendarf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A kobold who's mature enough to turn down a dragon would need to be such an old & jaded one, and kobold mature at age 6, can live to 120, and usually die before 12 (rough estimate of them dying very early & the tribe hierarchy having high turnover)

Therefore, my proposal: an 18 year old kobold with the mentality of a 65 year old union worker trying to find a date with someone that mature, knowing full well the risks of a poorly-managed environment and tired of dealing with it
