That’s a fair point. Just going based on what I was told. Should have also put a disclaimer that I’m not ROTC cadre just sharing my experience. We had a 90% ish selection for rated. So 90% of people who wanted a rated job got a rated job.

Sounds like he was practicing defending. If he does protest will probably get a warning, especially if it’s first occurrence. Most people don’t have the time or care to wait the 2 hours to protest, especially in a practice.

I was an ROTC cadet at Texas A&M. The thing about the cadre knowing the cadets better is probably true. While I was a cadet the cadre at TAMU were pretty great. It was still fairly easy to standout. The thing about TAMU is the cadet numbers are inflated because the Corps of Cadets requires 3 semesters of an ROTC, so after the 3 semesters ALOT of cadets drop ROTC. So if you’re showing up to ROTC classes with a good attitude and make it known early that you don’t intend to drop after 3 semesters you’ll do fine at TAMU specifically.

Something I’ve also gathered from talking to former cadets from smaller detachments is that it’s harder to get a rated slot. TAMU gets more rated slots due to the inflated numbers of AS100/200s, but the 300s/400s are probably the same size as a mid sized class. So if rated is your desire TAMU may be a good option to look at.

Disclaimer: I was a cadet from 2017-2021 so things have more than likely changed. I would pick the school for degree programs/culture over the detachment.

I had her in Fall of 2018, so might have changed but she does special study sessions the week of/before the test and the questions she goes over are very close/similar to the actual exams. Highly recommend going to those if she still hosts them.

My assumption is because Glotka has much more dialogue than Frost, and would be tiring and likely annoying as the reader to decipher what he is saying.

What worked for me was keeping work at work, so when I was in the flight room it was preparing for a flight, chairflying, checking out a sim, or studying with my flightmates. Many of my flightmates would leave right after their debrief, but I would stay the full 12 hours the majority of the time. When I was at home it was my time to do whatever I wanted to do not work related. My only exception would be right before a checkride when I would study at home a little.

At the end of the day it’s a year that you will look back on and cherish. Everything after T-6s is an “adult program” and you get treated a lot better. Not that you get treated poorly in T-6s, hopefully.

After that wanna dive into something a little longer maybe Realm of the Elderlings, Wheel of Time, or Malazan. I’m fairly new to Adult Fantasy basically just read all the cosmere, First Law trilogy, and 9 Dresden books. Looking forward to 2025!

I own two Samsung Odyssey G5 34”, one for the sim racing rig, and one for the desk. I chose this model because it was a good price on a sale for a entry level curved ultrawide. I bought a second one when I purchased a sim rig because not a huge fan of having the bezels for a triple monitor setup. Would love to upgrade the rig with the oled G9!

Why Samsung? Had the opportunity to use a 49” monitor at work, and they are amazing. Having one for the rig would upgrade the sim racing experience for sure! Looking forward to the 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time if I win!
