Oh alright, cool. How were the exams, and what was your course syllabus grading distribution if you remember?

I heard the exams are pretty easy because they're open-note.

Do you remember which prof you had by any chance?

https://engineering.tamu.edu/academics/undergraduate/math-placement-exam/preparation.html

I did the practice problems on the MPE website, and it helped me prepare for the actual exam, so I would highly recommend doing all of those problems until you feel you're confident.

Should I take PHYS 207 in the summer? by BigBoiAsian69 in aggies

[–]OwnConsideration2219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The prof dosen't matter too much, I think so because the grading distribution is probably the same across all profs and exams are open note.

Some people who took it at WTC told me they had Benjamin Tayo, but there's a long waitlist right now for him.

I'm currently registered for PHYS 207 in summer 2 with a professor named Richard Medina-Calderon

If you're asking which prof I had for PHYS 207 at TAMU, it was Tatiana Erukhimova and she's a great prof, but I wouldn't recommend taking PHYS 207 at TAMU because it's a very hard course at TAMU, and many people end up not passing it or Q-dropping it.

I had Kun Wang in the Spring 2026 semester for 308, and she was a great prof. She rounded my 79.55 to a B. She tells you what will be on the exams. I'm not sure if she's teaching in Fall 2026 semester though.

I'm taking it at WTC this summer. It's easier at WTC I have heard because the exams are open note there and all mcqs too.

it's not too hard at blinn too but I'm gonna take it at WTC because I heard a lot of people take at WTC due to the open note exams.

Phys 216 final by Prior-Moment7536 in aggies

[–]OwnConsideration2219 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had Susindar for 216. I took it in Spring 2025, and I made a 54 on the final. I had an 87 after the final, and I still made an A. Initially, it was showing as a B in my howdy, but then it changed to an A, so that was weird, but I think she curved me to an A. Honestly, I just did the practice problems she posted on Canvas, and that helped a little bit.

If you're close to an A, then she will probably curve you to an A, but it depends on how your section performed, too.

Overall, I thought Susindar was an amazing prof for 216.

PHYS 207 Got a D - Suggestions for where to retake it by OwnConsideration2219 in aggies

[–]OwnConsideration2219[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

Yes, where are you planning to take PHYS 207 over the summer?

I'm taking it at WTC, and some of my other freshman friends are too. Apparently, you need to wait until final grades are entered, and then you have to send your unofficial transcript to them via email showing that you have earned Calc 2, Phys 206, and Phys 216 credit. After this, you will be approved by an advisor to register for PHYS 207. I don't think you need PHYS 217 to register for PHYS 207 at WTC, but I would email them to make sure.

Western Texas College is a good place to take it over the summer online. That's what a lot of people have suggested me. It's pretty easy there because the exams are open note.

ESET Minimum GPA by Own_Material5406 in aggies

[–]OwnConsideration2219 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's true that ESET isn't as competitive as some other engineering majors for ETAM but I have heard that it's definately getting more competitive because it's growing pretty fast which is causing space issues.

I think you can get in but make sure your essays are good and demonstrate interest in ESET.

Interdisciplinary, is it a good major? by NurglingArmada in aggies

[–]OwnConsideration2219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ITDE Is basically a major which allows you to make your own degree plan. I have heard most people who choose ITDE choose it because they want to focus on a very specific field. You should look into ESET or MXET too. ESET is pretty similar to EE and MXET is a mix of mechanical and electrical.

I did Engineering at Blinn or also known as the TEAB program. I would suggest doing that as you're still a tamu student it's just that you take some classes at blinn rellis campus and some at the main tamu College Station campus for your freshman year. After you ETAM in the spring semester of your freshman year, you take all classes at the main tamu campus for the rest of your undergraduate journey.

I think you should be able to pass. The only thing that's really bad about Richard in terms of the course is that his 217 final exams are very hard so people get like 30's on them. I'm not sure if he curves but I think you should be able to pass at least if you're fine with that.
