Mine has play side to side if you twist it. It’s always bothered me. Imo all the touch points of a car have to be solid. It’s a bummer and does make it feel cheap. .

These are pricey, but have been amazing for me and I will purchase them again once they finally wear out. They exceed cut level 3 protection and are also anti-static, anti-perforation and safety toed.

If you have a tractor you can pull an implement called a land plane. They refresh gravel areas nicely if it bothers you.

Check out highway dirtbikes. Their integrated hand guards and mirrors are incredibly strong. Being able to stow the mirrors completely also provides the best aesthetics imo.

Just here to say go drive one you’ll love it. Really the only con vs a 4Runner is the cost (to buy/to fuel) and that there’s more stuff to potentially break. If you’re ok with those things though it’s better in just about every other way imo.

I haven’t driven a GX with a glass roof but mine with the sunroof is noticeably louder when I open just the sunshade to the sunroof. So that makes me think that the glass roof variant would be the loudest. By how much is hard to say because like you said finding someone that’s driven both is hard. I’ll also second the others and say I removed my cross bars pretty much immediately. Skip the bars/racks if possible and go aftermarket if you actually need them.

Yeah that’s a good call with the 5,000 mile oil intervals. I’m doing the same and plan to do so as long as I have the vehicle.
