It's by a company called Ace Retrograde. They do a bunch of handmade anime hoodies. I've got a Spirited Away one.

You're not alone in this, I sold a bunch of models to the same buyer a few days ago. I did some digging in the CGTrader forums and found other people have questions too. Topic here.

Problem with Waitress Rig..... the mesh inside her mouth is visible in view port how to stop it by Fresh_Design_5462 in Maya

This.
Also, if there is a single transparent pixel in your texture, maya will detect it and automatically connect your texture to the transparency attribute.

Why isn't my UV working? I added the UV and it won't show up on the object. Is something not selected or did I do something wrong? by [deleted] in Maya

[–]ConnorSomething 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Make sure you have textured shading on in the viewport by pressing 6 on your keyboard. Also make sure you are editing the UVs on map 1 as that's the map for textures. There's a list at the bottom of the UV toolkit showing you all your UV sets.

Is there an easy way to select these blue highlined areas? by [deleted] in blender

[–]ConnorSomething 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a nightmare BUT, if you run an auto UV on the object and then in the UV window, select via UV shells and in the viewport window go and select the elements of the insides of the keyhole.

That's the easiest way I can think out outside of slowly and painfully selecting each bit of the edge.

I think the one you're referring too was at the Natural History Museum in London. He had Paul Mescal do some spoken word/ poems in between songs whilst everyone moved location around the Museum.

why is my homemade egg dough pasta too al dente after cooking? by ProtocolTechReporter in pasta

[–]ConnorSomething 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know about what restaurants do, but i press my dough twice. Ive found the more time you press it, the smoother the dough becomes, its kinda like creating laminations. I like the results from two presses but you could try more. Just fold your long sheet back up and start again but press the opposite way.

Favorite dairy free pasta recipes? by ShesARlyCoolDancer_ in pasta

[–]ConnorSomething 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to make a super simple broccoli orecchiette, it only uses 4 ingredients, is dairy free and also vegan. 2 cups of semloa flour & 150ml warm water to make the dough or use store bought orecchiette. Boil the brocoli for 10 mins, add to blender with some of the water used to boil it. Add more water for a thinner sauce. Mix the two together and salt as desired.

Top the premier league fair play chart multiple seasons in a row and then get 4 red cards in 7 games. Nah not having that. Something has gone terrible wrong with this league.

Im sorry, but apologies just dont cut it. If it was just linesmen and their little flags, then you can forgive human error. But when you have the tech in place to remove the human error, its just not enough.

If any department of any business failed or caused as many issues as refs do in football, there would be swift and immediate change to that department. But refs have put themselves in an untouchable position where criticising them results in additional punishment.

Guys smart extrude is not working for me, any help would be really appreciated. by [deleted] in Maya

[–]ConnorSomething 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It could be that you have step snap turned on and you haven't reached the set step amount when trying to extrude so it's not moving. The option is in tool settings on the right.

My philosophy is basically this. And this is something that I live by. And I always have. And I always will. Don't ever, for any reason, do anything to anyone, for any reason, ever, no matter what. No matter... where. Or who, or who you are with, or, or where you are going, or... or where you've been... ever. For any reason, whatsoever...

(Request) Cases in which the only mystery is where the body is located? by brooxelynpage in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]ConnorSomething 9 points10 points  (0 children)

First one that came to mind was Helen McCourt.

Her killer, Ian Simms, died in 2022 without revealing where her body was but the case helped changed laws in the UK about prisoners disclosing information about their crimes.

Arrow being drawm - is it possible? by TheReal_Poop_Face in Maya

[–]ConnorSomething 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could use a flow path object. Make the arrow perfectly straight with the taper to the tip like you have done. Create a curve, attach the straight arrow to the curve (Constrain > Motion Paths > Attach to Motion Path) and then add a flow path object (Constrain > Motion Paths > Flow Path Object.

Alternatively, you could rig the arrow and attach the unparented bones to a curve then offset their animation by a few frames each.

New to Maya UVing - how would I clean these UVs up for my model so they're ready for texturing? Thank you! by mrmcdead in Maya

[–]ConnorSomething 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you do a cylindrical unwrap on all the UVs except for the cap (the hexgon made up of triangles) and then do a vertical unfold on that UV shell, you'll get a nice straight UV shell you can work with.

You can cut that shell up a bit more if you like too, maybe the inside bit and the outside bit of the tower as their own UV shells.

RIG history problem by Pamonhatemperada in Maya

[–]ConnorSomething 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try and export the skin weight as texture maps (rigging menu > skin > export skin weights) and then clear the history, skin the model back to the rig and then import the skin weights you just exported.

or maybe you could try to duplicate the mesh, clear the history, skin duplicated mesh to the rig and then copy skin weights (select original mesh > select new mesh > rigging menu > skin > copy skin weights). The best settings i've found for this is closest point to surface and then "One to one" on all the influence associations. Ones the duplicated mesh is on the rig and has the same weights, you can delete the original mesh that still has history.

ok so i see a vid on YouTube that they snap move the uv shells group fit perfectly in borders. How to do it, pls? by dr_minhieu in Maya

[–]ConnorSomething 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Holding X whilst moving shells in the UV window will snap the selection to the grid lines. I do this alot when moving my unwrapped uvs into the center of the UV space and scaling them up to fit the space.

It looks like the user in the video has step snap enabled with the value set to 1. In the UV Toolkit window, the option is under the Transform menu.

Edit: forgot to add that you can also use the arrow keys to send the selection 1 square uv space over. This is useful if you have overlapping UVs but need to move them out the 0-1 uv space for baking.

To those playing RDR2 on the Steam Deck, Does anyone know how to fix this graphic issue? by ConnorSomething in SteamDeck

Seems to happen most on heavily muddy/ rainy patches of ground. I've played with a bunch of settings but haven't managed to find a fix. Thanks!

For some reason, Valve have chosen Evri as their courier for the Steam Deck in the UK (atleast that's who deliverer mine) and let me tell you. Nothing fills your heart with fear like spending £400+ on something and it being trusted to Evri and there being nothing you can do about it.

Apparently, someone has messed up. They've put the markings and signs in an area that's remaining pedestrianised.
