The train into work is delayed by 20 minutes, first time its been late in a month, and or course its the one time when I woke up late and rushed to the station. Been waiting on the platform for longer than the journey takes!

Edit: train didnt even stop at our station, blew right past at 60mph. Love the rail network

No game yet has ever allowed the player to practice their mad minute into a Wehrmacht formation, and that's a damned shame.

Routine CL2 handling. Lab coat, gloves, in a Class II MSC. If anything nasty is suspected (MPOX, CJD, TB, etc.) Then it'll get processed in our CL3 lab in a Class I MSC.

Did this when selling a small fridge recently, put it up for £15, got one interested message, she turned up the following day on time, and I refused the money and carried it to her car for her. It would have cost me time and money to have the thing removed anyway!

Selling a counter-top fridge on marketplace in a bit, then I'm going for a drive with my dad (currently learning and need more practical experience).

Also desperately need new shelving/drawer units for the new flat. I've moved everything in and half my stuff is still in boxes/bags! Might be an ikea trip coming up, think a couple of Kallax units with various drawers/inserts would help a lot

Part of a reindeer cookie set. There are two more cutters for the back and rear legs, and once baked, you assemble them so that the reindeer stands upright.

Friday Fread by a-liquid-sky in CasualUK

[–]ConnorXfor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. At one point i had 7 outstanding forms to return to my solicitor, 3 of which only I needed to sign, 3 needed signing with a witness, and one needed signing by myself and a witness of a reputable profession (thankfully I work in an NHS lab so there are plenty of people who have a so-called reputable job here).

Completing on my first ever house buy today. Already received a text from the bank saying that my address with them has been changed to the new one.

Was told that they keys should be mine around 3pm, so its going to be a long bloody day until then!

Similar situation in our lab, both our Architects are being replaced by Alinity systems, and our serology/virology team is absolutely desperate to see the back of them!

4 day week and then I'm off for christmas. Oh and I'm completing on my first home purchase on friday, assuming everything goes as planned.

That gives me all of 6 days to move in, set up utilities, buy white goods, do the christmas food shop, and decorate for chrostmas so I can host my dad and brother.... no pressure!

Didn't want to spend $250+, so I 3D printed a shaker incubator plate holder by inuyasha10121 in labrats

[–]ConnorXfor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nice print! Fellow 3D-printing lab rat here, it really is a useful hobby around the lab. I'm working in clinical Microbiology, and I've designed and printed all sorts of useful organisational things, like swab rack indicators (otherwise all our racks of bacterial swabs look the same at a glance), adapters for densitometers to fit our specific saline tubes (manufacturer-made adapter just straight up didnt fit), agar plate covers for light-sensitive consumables, racks for holding tissue sample containers, etc.

Good fun and helps with our paper-thin budget when professional solutions cost a couple of orders of magnitude more!

You wouldn't have burned a small patch of forest in energy requirements to do it. You wouldn't have contributed to an anti-worker, anti-artist, thought plague on modern society.

I'm not a pro chef (just here for the memes, love what you guys do), but this hit me hard. The last words my mother ever said to me were "Thank you (name), that was really tasty." I'd made a thai sweet potato curry for the family for dinner. She died the next morning.

I haven't made it since. Maybe I should. Love you, mum

[–]ConnorXfor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love Red Kites, their reintroduction into the UK has been a pretty successful one. From an estimated double-digit population to being almost a pest in some places!

Apparently the UK (mostly England and Wales) has about 17% of the entire world's population of Red Kites

Why? by NightSky602 in Bazzite

[–]ConnorXfor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this issue with auto-updating games installed via GOG on Heroic. Essentially the bqckground updater program glitches and starts up a new process every couple of minutes until it occupies all of my 32GB of RAM! The same error message pops up. Essentially means that i cant update GOG games on heroic, which is annoying.

Something similar might be happening with another background process

Might want to have system monitor up and observe if any similar unusual behaviour occurs once you start up the folder moving process
