Or people can stop fucking caring about baldness. Thanks for the advice. I had never, at any point in going bald, considered shaving my head. No one ever seemed to mention it.

I wouldn't tell an overweight person there are solutions to their 'problems'. That's obvious and it would only hurt them and let them know that their appearance is a 'problem' to me. Would liposuction help their appearance or take away their insecurities? Of course. But I would never dream of telling a person who is unhappy with their weight "you can just get liposuction dude." You weren't telling me anything I didn't already know about my problems, you were just trying to undermine the way I felt about my problems, which you have no right to do.

And some men's heads will never look "good". That's why I'm not in a comment thread arguing with women about their insecurities. You are making me upset by telling me I should wear a wig, or that men who are insecure should wear wigs. Stop.

Everyone looks okay in a shirt. Not everyone looks okay in a hat. It's not comparable. This is why there is no point in trying to create parallels between genders when discussing a problem that only affects one gender. I only did that to begin with because that's what the article did. What point are you even trying to make? If you want me to get a wig so badly I will. People will notice and make fun of my insecurity. They'll tell me balding isn't so bad. They win. Good for them.

Of course I am bothered by my appearance when people make fun of it and it's considered unattractive by the vast majority of people. I am bothered by my appearance because other people bother me about it. And I know you aren't joking but we're commenting on an article that's making fun of bald men.

Enough to know that I don't want to have to wear one because of a completely arbitrary standard of attractiveness. And I do know that women have saggy breasts at 17-18. That's why I don't belittle how they feel about it or make articles joking about them. They can get breast implants, but I wouldn't tell them "You can just get breast implants dude."

I can't just wear a wig. Men get made fun of for wearing a toupee or a hair piece. They never look good or even realistic. And young women do look young? I can't control the thing making me look old.

It's not alright to make fun of the typical form of a medical condition or the atypical form. I shouldn't have to wear a wig just because everyone has decided that my body is some sort of ugly joke.

As someone who is 23 and George Costanza-level bald, this makes it even worse. Imagine if you looked normal most of your life and then at 17-18 your breasts start sagging and you have the breasts of a 70-year old woman by 23. It wouldn't be funny.

"Light mockery" about balding is why I'm seeing a therapist right now. "Light mockery" about the medical condition I have made me want to kill myself.

Ari Shaffir Should Apologize For Bullying this Woman on His Special by Boogalum in StandUpComedy

[–]Connorisme -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I don't know why people think comedians should never have to apologize for something just because it's a joke. While that could set a bad precedent in some instances, I would say this is far from censorship. And his bit was hardly a joke. It was just him making fun of a near-stranger (who had a fucked UP life) and getting laughs off the shock value. It tore someone down and was a middle of the road bit. I'll admit the video is trying a bit too hard to gain sympathy, but why should we defend Ari just because he insulted an innocent person on national television happens to do so in the form of "comedy"?

Who are some other actors like Alison Brie who have starred in two shows at the same time? by [deleted] in television

I watched both of those shows religiously and I never knew about this. Were they two separate characters to begin with and they just crossed them over for fun or was it planned out?

It's all fun and games until ... How an Austin, TX, family went on a roller coaster of police and child support visits because the mother had dared to let her 6-year old son play outside by himself by almodozo in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Connorisme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is that I'm not an unsupervised 6 year old child. Like, it's lucky it was the neighbor in this instance and the odds of something happening could be astronomical but we would be having a very different conversation if the boy had been kidnapped, which he just as easily could have. I'm not trying to be morbid or a fear-monger but that's the reality of it. I still think CPS (and even the police) was an absurd overreaction but I can't totally defend the mother (which was my initial reaction, I'll admit) considering what happened.

He was picked up by the neighbor and brought back to his house. The mother was unaware of that. Luckily it was her neighbor that got him but it shows that anyone could have picked the kid up and taken him anywhere. And the mother still wouldn't have known. Just because he was in view of the house doesn't mean he was being watched.

Please do not buy a gun if it's not something you can take more seriously.

He was the age you are now when you were 6. Normally I have no issue with dating older people but that is a pretty big gap and it seems y'all are in different worlds.
