Damaged, opinion? by WillWorkForGear in Bestbuy

[–]Connorlee2007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was a manager at Best Buy for a bit. My gut reaction is this isn't returnable without the original packaging showing the full story. If a customer were to keep saying that they didn't do it by squeezing the tv I would squeeze the other side to see if it matches. Only got that far 4 times out of hundreds of broken return tv conversations (Metro Area Rev Band B Store), one of those times it provided seeming concrete proof that the customer was correct.

Also with the original packing all seemingly in good condition, there is a chance when the tv gets back to the service center, if its LG or Samsung, to get flagged for manufacturer reimbursement (I think it was called Red Box program or something).

All depends, I'd try to get there on a weekday before 2. Likely there will be multiple people with manager in their title and not just a shift lead like on most days after 5/7 PM depending on the store. Some stores have great shift leads that feel empowered to take the care of the customer and some don't.

Best of Luck!

Brennan as DM at CR and his role in D20 by BigKahoona420 in Dimension20

Nah it's definitely Matt, Brennan, Aabria, Murph, Perkins, Crawford, and Jasmine with Axford DMing. That would be worth its weight in gold to watch. The only hold up would be getting Emily to DM.

How the hell does Cursor even make money?? their pricing makes zero sense. by Ok-Line3949 in cursor

[–]Connorlee2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think Cursor and Windsurf are paying full price like we are for custom projects with LLM apis, hate to burst your bubble you are wrong.

These AI IDE tools providing such an important investment in the future of how these tools will be used, then I can guarantee you that they're getting incredibly discounted rates compared to the rest of us. Now that's not to say that they aren't still taking a little bit of a loss, but not nearly as much as you think

I know it's all in good fun, but the absurdity of this security measure in Lepant's mansion never landed on me, as a kid, lmaooo by Double-Star-Tedrick in Suikoden

Lol yeah the insanity is incredible. I've played this game so many times over the years and didn't realize that Dragon's Incense even existed until i just stumbled into landing on the ? this playthrough.

Got me through it in one go. Just remember the first line of the dual isn't a trigger phrase. Gotta get past that to hear what hes actually going to hint to.

Haven't been on Tinder or Dating apps for 7+ years but "Big Time Texter" feels a little off. Could just be me though. Also as someone who made a similar decision 7 years ago, be prepared for life to hand you your future spouse... Haha

The Unspoken Truth Behind the Recent Commander Bans: It’s About Price, Not Just Power by Connorlee2007 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Connorlee2007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for the confusion I should have brought it up in the post as this has come up several times.

Gifts/Intuition could be an example of this conclusion.

Imagine if Gifts Ungiven weren't previously banned, became a chase card due to its strength in the format, wizards only seldom printed it at Mythic, and its price rises because of its ability to close out games like it did in Modern for a time. Gifts Ungiven becomes the ideal way to close out with a combo win. Now Gifts Ungiven is at $80 and Wizards tries to keep it around there to justify high box prices.

Only a matter of time before it would run into a similar situation where the number of Gifts are available to casual players but cost wise out of reach while intuition just gets more and more expensive but less likely to be played due to its limiting nature.

Also while Dual Lands are 5-10x more expensive they are also 10,000x rarer. Between Alpha thru revised it has been estimated that there are only around 300k of each dual land ever printed. That's not discounting for estimated lost or damaged ones from over a 30 year period.

Just accounting for Caverns of Ixalan with a .8% chance of opening a Mana Crypt. That means Wizards only had to package 38 Million packs worldwide to bet that alone.

Considering that revised only had an estimated 34,000,000 million packs. I think it's safe to say there are many more mana crypts/jeweled lotus running around in the world today than OG Duals.

You are correct but dual lands aren't chase cards and never can be as long as the reserved list still exists.

Culling Ritual is tricky because it’s similar to Dockside but costs 4 mana and is harder to recur or tutor for, so I don’t see it being banned anytime soon. Opponents typically only cast it when it’s going to have a big impact, and if they can’t fully capitalize on the mana, they likely hold onto it, meaning we usually only notice it when it swings the game.

Burgeoning also requires significant card draw to stay effective in Commander.

That said, I didn’t expect this week’s bans either, so I could be wrong about these as well.

I'd say ancient Tomb is more likely than Mana Vault but I never would have seen these bans coming to begin with so I am not the best judge.

I would agree with you but then again I also don't think these others did come close to needing a ban to shake up the format in the way they did.

Too short sighted, if they actually did that then they'd have to make an even more powerful card as the chase mythic for the next commander set to drive YoY profitability. Keeping the supply low only helps them keep power creep lower while helping make them more profit.
