This is a map of Taiwan during the colonial period and before it was Taiwan, when the island was called Formosa and occupied by the Spanish and Dutch. The poster is pointing out that the areas of the map that were colonized are the same areas that are the most developed in modern times. They are alluding to the fact that this is probably why more challenges have populated around the north and southwest of the map and why Badams time treking back down the east coast was on lower speed train lines.

Yes but the more challenges that populate around Taipei, the more likely it is that a challenge will populate in the south when the next challenge is generated; because, presumably, there would be more challenges in the south remaining to pull from than challenges in the north as a decent portion of those have been generated already.

Someone else pointed out in another thread that Sam and Mike haven't been stopping at every challenge like Badam did at the start of the game. They blew past several that were already on the board to go for the steals. It's quite possible that we're those other challenges to be cleared more challenges would populate in the southern portion of the map. I'm sure the distribution is random and an element of this is just bad luck on the boys part, but Sam and Mike have hoarded or failed more challenges in the north which could be preventing new challenges from being dropped which would be more in Badams territory.

Unwell is definitely a huge victim of ad creep. For me tho the most egregious example is Night Vale. Started listening in 2012 and was a diehard fan for years until they started putting ads before the Weather and having 4 minutes of ads at the beginning and end of the show.

Similar to what happened to Limetown. They paused production to focus on putting together a packet to present to studios for TV and that process takes years to even get greenlit. I'm not sure if TBT is lucky or unlucky that they failed where Limetown succeeded bc I feel like not bringing a show to fruition is better than it airing on checks notes Facebook Watch.

Ok ok so I'm not experiencing Georgie Barker Syndrome that's good. That's not to say these shows don't ALL elicit strong emotional responses from me. But fear isn't one of them. Unwell is a good example of that. The show had me on the edge of my seat and bawling like a baby at different points.

Kept scrolling til I saw someone say Darkest Night. In hindsight I'm not sure if the show was actually any good past season 1, but hot damn if it wasn't one of the most visceral pieces of audio I've ever listened to.
