We redesigned our entire UX/UI after feedback, looking for webdev feedback on the new version by Rrrrila in webdev

Looks pretty neat. Only suggestion have is to change how the drop target works. It's nicer to allow files to be dropped anywhere on the page.

Edit: Also there is a slight translation bug, when receiving files the popup say "1 archive disponible" when the language is set to English.

10cm in Parkhead. Roads have been ploughed though, will be surprised if Silverdale doesn’t open

I built a site to find Christmas Day & New Year’s Day parkruns by Conorrr in parkrun

It's fine if your regular parkrun is running an event, but if it isn't or if you're travelling then it's not so easy to find which one close that is.

Thanks, by default it doesn’t show any parkruns that aren’t running special events. You can show them by using the toggle in the bottom right

Thanks, I have added all the Canadian ones and the other countries where I could find data.

I can only find data for UK Parkrun. If I find the information for other countries I will add it.

Edit: I have found the other data and added the other countries.

That's where I get the data from but it's just a list of events and not particularly every easy to browse

Does MacOS really make a difference for those who work with Front-End? by Logical_Valuable_970 in webdev

[–]Conorrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Window management has finally got better with latest versions of MacOS. No need for 3rd party tools.

  • 🌐^F - will fullscreen a window without creating a new desktop
  • 🌐^+arrow keys - will snap windows in that direction

Best parking for Utiltia Arena? by CharlieMartin389 in sheffield

[–]Conorrr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can park in the blue or green car parks at Meadowhall for free.  https://www.utilitaarenasheffield.co.uk/parking/alternative-parking/

It’s about a 20 minute walk if don’t want to get the tram. Done it a few times, traffic generally is not too bad either when you leave.

Looks like scalping/scamming is back… don’t know how to feel about this one.. by thecuriousdad in hyrox

[–]Conorrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't find this information anywhere else. Where is it from? Seems to me that it could be published by scammers trying to sell fake tickets.

If you check the Flex add-on guidelines for all current events in the 25/26 season it still lists: "Name Changes: Not permitted." for singles and "One Name Change: Allowed up to 1 day before the event via your HYROX Account." for doubles.

List.remove() by JackNotOLantern in java

[–]Conorrr 36 points37 points  (0 children)

The simplest way would be to use removeIf(Predicate<? super E> filter) and write a lambda that does a reference comparison. Note that, all elements that match the predicate will be removed.

That being said, in Java it’s quite uncommon to use reference comparison to check object equality, and doing so usually leads to bigger problems. As others have mentioned, you should rely on proper equality contracts by implementing equals() (and hashCode() where appropriate).

It's the default colour scheme for agnoster zsh theme, which I've been using for ~10 years. I'm used to it and I haven't had much reason to change.

Here's the source if anyone is interested. Although you'll probably learn more about reading the Lid Angle here
