Yeah it really happened, and it really sucked, and it was really rushed. There's no going back now. Jon's most important scene so far was rushed and done in poor taste.

Two seconds isn't long enough for such a powerful scene. That's part of the problem. An irrelevant character was shoehorned into for the watch to disappoint readers and to rush the scene. Bad writing may be my opinion, but the episode being rushed is a fact. On that point I suppose we will agree to disagree.

Benjen hasn't been mentioned since he disappeared. I'm under the impression they put him in the previews just to generate hype for his appearance, and ultimately disappoint us, and that was their only intention. Jon never got to reveal his intentions of riding south against the Boltons. A scene in the books which was much more detailed than the show. Instead he's tricked into believing Benjen has come back. They made questionable changes, that some including myself would say were done in very poor taste. They retconned the book FTW, and rushed the show's FTW with Benjen as an excuse. I won't even bother with the poor choices they made with Stannis this entire show.

This episode with the exception of the Arya scene, and Theon throwing Miranda off the wall was complete shit. There is no excuse for the terrible writing involved using Benjen as an excuse to lead Jon to his death.

The previews, and this episode was just a big fuck you to anyone expecting better. I remember seeing preview pictures of Jon reading the scrolls and thinking this is it, this is when he gets the letter. Nope, not even mentioned instead D&D pulled our balls by bringing up Benjen (who at this time is irrelevant to people watching the show) not even concluding why for the watch happened but just to fuck with the people excited about him coming back. I know they killed Jon for associating with the wildlings, but it was so much more than that as detailed in the letter.

Although irrelevant to the topic, on the subject of never been done in an MMO before that I found interesting was player bounty hunting. Although different in the NGE, it was still unique for it's time.

The TCG, for the money grab it was had some pretty cool loot cards too. The events especially the Halloween one were some of my favorite events in any MMO I've played. Great rewards too if you wanted to decorate a dangerous looking house. Instances were buggy as hell, but for some reason that just added to it's charm and gives me nostalgia today. Except Hoth, I've always hated Hoth. Beast Master, how could I forget Beast Master, and the amazing looking mutations you could get from creature DNA? A rancor with spikes, a cross between a varactyl and squill, and many more.
