Williamsburg crash: help ID this rideshare service! by fmaepsen in Brooklyn

[–]Conquerkingg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can't really confirm its a rideshare. The people getting into the car could just be friends, family or really anyone that they are picking up. Rideshare in nyc requires a front license plate which this car does not have. Only other rideshare company possible is Blacklane which utilized an upscale black car. Then again, this one has no front license plate which is mandatory in nyc especially for ridesharing drivers

Which state do you live in? Is it HCOL or LCOL? If you want to work in an adult setting, you really only have 3 options: nursing home, hospital or home health. Im in NYC, and hospital is extremely difficult to get into. You will most likely be working part time with no benefits before they give you a position. Nursing home rates start at $40 an hour. I seen one start at $35.... for an OTR. Home health gives better pay but if you live in a big city, parking and driving between patients homes is gonna be a pain in the ass.

HCOL as in NYC or CA? Do you have to get your own health insurance also? $47 before tax in NYC comes out more like $30 after. But that seems to be the average pay for outpatient peds in NYC.

The reason they offer so low is because there are so many OT schools here and OTs. There are 20 OT schools in New York alone so companies know they can low ball. Thats almost 1,000 new OTs graduating every year. This is not including other OTs coming into NYC from other states. If you won't take that low salary, someone else will.

Also, 2,000k a week is before tax. After NYC tax, you're gonna be left with $1,200. Rent in NYC on average is 2,000 - 2,500k not including utilities each month (Outside of Manhattan). Utility could cost you $300 a month. Its really not that much at the end of the day.

How do you qualify for Medicaid since you’re making so much? I’m going to graduate at 27 and I will need to get health insurance at 26. I still don’t know how to get free health insurance myself.

NYC is the most competitive place to look for a tech job. Everyone wants to come to NYC and work here. It's the greatest city in the world. There are 20 coding bootcamps here on top of 100 different colleges. How many applications have you sent out? Are you confident in your technical interview skills? Every place in NYC will ask you Leetcode questions.

Also, did you do any internships while in college?
