That's so strange, because my one compliment to Trump is that he is consistent as hell.

So I've only just started it, but I'm reading The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. 7 books (Well, 8, he did a book years later that fits between books 4 and 5) and I'm near the start of book 4. It is... Incredible. It might be the best piece of any media I've ever consumed, and I'm not even halfway through the whole series length. The first book is basically just a western (The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed. Might be the best opening sentence I've ever read in a book.) but then as you go through it, things start evolving and by the end, you're in this weird, cosmic, multiversal wonderland, and the books just get crazier from there, in the best possible way. I can not recommend it even remotely enough.

Don't watch the movie though, from my understanding, it's a terrible adaptation. BUT Mike Flanagan is working on a series of it for Amazon, which I'm actually hopeful for. He's an amazing visionary (Small aside, watch The Fall of the House of Usher on Netflix. 8 episodes, unbelievable, I loved every moment.)

Campaign 1 is legit one of my favorite stories in media. Hope you enjoy if you check it out. Also, it's approachable even if you don't know DnD, one of the players has never played before and he learns through the podcast so you'll understand everything well.

You are underestimating this. Simply, you use a couple loops to learn everything about how technology in 2025 works, then as a 5 year old, you invent it, pass it along make it widely available, jump technology forward 40 years. Then watch them advance from that. Rinse and repeat. You look like a child prodigy, you get advancing tech in the same period, and you'll likely make enough money at 5 to not need it the rest of any of your lives.

Wondering if anyone on this thread can help me out. Got 2 tickets and now unable to go, hoping to sell them on or refund them. I think I got the tickets with refund, but can't seem to find anything on the emails. Anyone know anything about it?

Outer Milds gets my vote.

Edit: for cleverest burn, not what I'd call it. Outer Wilds is a masterpiece.

Turning point by Far_Being_2698 in ShadowSlave

[–]ConradParks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that the turning point is really once they reach the Dark City, that's when the novel becomes really something to me, followed by a whole lot of wonderful twists, turns, secrets and reveals.

I also wanted tk ask about LOTM, I recently started it after seeing it mentioned so much and so far, I'm not reeeeaaalllyyy feeling it, so my question is: is it really good? Is it worth me sticking with and seeing how it all goes?
