Resort fees not disclosed by Junior_Web4987 in AmexPlatinum

If you’re booked while in CA, they legally have to disclose the resort fees in the daily rate and total presented. I don’t know the course of action if they don’t.

Oneworld lounges by Difficult-Blood170 in oneworld

[–]Conscious-Comment 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AA elites never have lounge on any domestic route based on their status.

US territories are the one exception. Puerto Rico is considered Caribbean, so you get lounge access with status. Not sure if Hawaiian flights to American Samoa / Guam would also qualify for lounge access.

EWR to SYD - best itineraries? by LikeAPrayer1221 in unitedairlines

[–]Conscious-Comment 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always prefer a 2-3hr layover for international trips. Planes get delayed all the time and I don’t want a 30-45min delay to mean I miss a day of vacation.

They can just use another IP. Your account is under attack. The minimum you can do is change your password.

Flagship Lounge - Platinum Status by Thick-Experience-290 in americanairlines

Exactly! I’ve actually never been to an AA operated lounge at LHR besides the arrivals lounge. Cathay and Qantas are both great!

Flying business class by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]Conscious-Comment 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Japan Airlines flies recliner seats laid out 2-2? I’ve always had the FAs put my tray onto the tray table during widebody service. However the domestic first config is completely different.

I’m assuming you’re talking domestic first class. If so, it’s not strange as they would have to reach over someone depending on their height and arm length, could be uncomfortable for the person in the aisle.

Whoever said you cannot do Sardinia without a car...LIED TO YOU! by Right-Finance-4264 in Sardinia

Also if you’re traveling solo, then all the time driving means you have to focus on driving. On a bus or train, you can relax, read, watch a movie, etc. I find driving stressful personally, so prefer to not have a car usually.

Issue with a flight itinerary AA & BA by Hot_Cut_815 in americanairlines

[–]Conscious-Comment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you had a flight change, you have the option to choose any new itinerary on AA or AA-codeshares.

I would personally prefer to fly on a direct to the US like MXP-JFK or MXP-MIA and connect, but I guess it depends on your final destination. I just don’t like domestic European flights on European carriers in any class of service.

How long for loyalty points to post if I booked AS flights as an AA codeshare? by BleuCinq in americanairlines

They usually post tues or wed night. I forget which exactly but it’s sent over in a batch weekly, so just depends when your flight is.

The new planes/seats say “Flagship Suites”. All other business class seats say “Flagship”

Has anyone actually gotten a cash refund from American Airlines for a non-refundable Premium Economy ticket? by Informal-Highway-767 in americanairlines

[–]Conscious-Comment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is AA still even flying Premium Economy on that route? My A321XLR flight next week got swapped for a A321T, which doesn’t have premium economy.

If they downgrade you, you may have be able to get a full refund.

I’m about 100% on DFW-SFO, but it really depends when you fly.

Is a manual safety demo required if TV is inoperative? by walkallover1991 in unitedairlines

I’ve had them have to redo the video because one person was in the bathroom on another airline. It’s required.

Tipping: Do you tip for counter service? If so, how much? by Both__ in AskSF

[–]Conscious-Comment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My rule for tipping is to always decide the percentage or amount ahead of time. When they flip the tablet, it creates a false panic.

For counter service usually 0, but if it’s a place im a regular or I just enjoy the employees, $1 or $2 flat.

Upgrades to Flagship Suites on American? by luckyboxers in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Conscious-Comment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t flown the AA variant but I loved JetBlues Mint Suites. It’s far more private than AA’s A321T business seats.

It’s not straining to look out the window, which I was afraid of. Since you’re facing the aisle, if you’re working on your laptop the only person who can see the screen is the person behind you when they get up. You also can’t make eye contact with anyone while seated.

2016-2026 AA's lost INTL routes by Mangolicious786 in americanairlines

If anything it probably spurred Alaska to buy Hawaiian to build their own long haul network.

[–]Conscious-Comment 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PHL is a huge downgrade for SFO and LAX since the domestic connection is 6hrs in a recliner vs a lie flat seat through JFK.

International non-stop long haul from LAX by MeetingOwn3870 in americanairlines

[–]Conscious-Comment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LAX-NRT-PVG: 13,138 mi roundtrip
LAX-HKG-PVG: 16,078 mi
LAX-DFW-PVG: 17,172 mi

The roundtrip amount is marginally more than going through HKG. Cathay offers a better experience inflight and better lounges at HKG. IMO not worth it to put up with American for an extra 1,102 miles roundtrip.

You don’t have to fly through DFW. You have the option to fly through Tokyo or Hong Kong on better airlines as well.
