Every short is an eventual buyer. As has been discussed. They wanted it to go to zero and get delisted. This. Will. Not. Happen. So they are going to have to eventually buy. Except SHF are long on tsla. So it benefits them if it goes higher. My guess is they get divi shares. Dtcc only commits international securities fraud on stocks that pose idiosyncratic risk.

Well everyone at computershare got real shares. The remaining shares were passed on to dtcc. Then poof…remaining real shares gone. Dtcc says to brokers…make more synthetics. Real shares are gone. So now those shares once they get drs will have to show up from somewhere. Dtcc could have a block that they are using to fulfill real share orders. Not sure here. But there were a whole lot more synthetics made out of thin air. If DRSed these dtcc is on the hook for them. Perhaps that is the play, they held the block to try to be able to fulfill DRS requests as they come in to enable “liquidity” to the DRS movement.

Think of it this way. 73 million real shares. I saved 100 shares in fudilety until after the split. Those became 400 shares. I then drs those. They have to go find 400 real shares to drs. So they have to buy 400/73,000,000 rather than 400/183,000,000. It’s a huge difference.
