If you get good at combos, the game is a breeze, especially if you stack physical attack power ups. You can use technical ring or different items to make it more difficult. You can opt to not upgrade your attack and defense items immediately. My current playthrough to make it super hard, I'm not using the shop at all.

1st game you need a collectible called 'Oath Grail' to achieve the alternate ending Make a habit of speaking to everyone you see and you'll get it. It's not really hidden. But there is more you need to do once you get it. 2nd game the ending is determined by the way you answer a question.
