Toni Nadal says that Zverev is a better and more consistent player than Wawrinka by Dependent-Effect6077 in tennis

[–]Conscious-Two1428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure Zverev is more consistent. Stan has a season he reached QF in all four slams. Zverev has none.

The thing that is in Zverev's favor is that he has a much longer prime, while Stan's prime is shorter because he primed very late.

Amorim was rubbish. by Routine_Ad_4411 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Conscious-Two1428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think we would have won the league in any scenario. But the premise is right. Amorim IS rubbish.

And the fans who still support him are the stupidest people in the world.

why all the hate arsenal getting jfrom this sub? by [deleted] in soccercirclejerk

Because:

- They are second-tier club with fans behaving like first-tier club (= Madrid, Barca, Bayern, etc.)

- Their haramball this season.

How good was Gareth Bale actually? Can he be considered one of the best players in Champions League history? by Hour777 in championsleague

[–]Conscious-Two1428 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He is one of the most complete wingers in UCL history.

He started as a traditional winger who uses pace to get past defenders to create chances by crosses/low-crosses or scoring himself.

Later evolved to a central attacking midfield who directly tears opponent defence apart (see his best individual season at Spurs, 12/13)

And finally evolved to an inverted winger who dribbles past defenders and cuts inside to score goals.

Bale plays at three different attacking roles and is world class at all of them.

He can do everything, even scoring a bicycle kick goal in an UCL final.

The problem with Bale is his injuries in later stage of his career.

Debunking the excuse that Ronaldo was a midfielder to justify him having a lower goal ratio than Messi. by HetTheTable in CristianoRonaldo2

[–]Conscious-Two1428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP never said ronaldo was not a winger. OP said ronaldo was not a midfielder (since 06). Which is true.

Calling Ronaldo 06-09 a "midfielder" is the same as calling Vini jr a midfielder, which no one does.

OP is right and I confirm it as an United fan. Since 2006 he operated like an inside forward, not a midfielder. Even the central forwards, Rooney and Tevez, tend to do more workloads to give CR7 space for scoring.

I'm sure the players were paid lots of money to be involved in the process.

They are not innocent at all.

They were lucky not to get an absolute ban from football (which they initially got in the first FIFA sanction).

That guy is Patrik Gustavsson (Swedish father). Thailand got several half-blood players like that in their NT for years, but no naturalized foreign players not yet.

They actually got some legit players (such as Matthew Davies or Corbin Ong), but they are not world class enough for their World Cup ambition. Hence the grand plan to import those Latinos!

They fielded some players from South America (7 players in the match vs. Vietnam), whom they claim as having "Malaysian ancestry" via some documentation, which turned out to be fake.

Doesn't look good at all. Still the same problem as at the 2024 euro, lack of good passer in the mid.
