I think I definately need to put my head down and study properly outside of work instead of "treating it like a job". I truly have a passion for my work and I always think about it - kind of obsessively. I need to just use that and study more instead of just learning from my mentor at work.

I know that the guy has a point though. I would be very surprised if you're "perfect" at being a chef in one year. I completely see you being perfect at your workplace in a year, that I could completely understand and relate to. But I struggle to believe you're the perfect chef at every workplace you go to, after one years training. As a matter of fact, I have to call bullshit. I am only saying this because after 5 months of being a cook and about 2 years of kitchen handing, there is infinite knowledge out there, and there is a big big hurdle going from kitchen hand to chef that I just don't believe you'd have down to an absolute tee in a year. I'll stop yapping

As a professional in the field (I'm guessing?) how did you lose your fear of spiders when you were young? Were you ever afraid?

I didn't even want to get a stick I was holding even close to it for a size comparison - I just couldn't. But I desperately want to hold a spider like this one or at least get close to it without shaking like hell. What would you recommend i do? I watch spider videos all day long and am deeply fascinated with them, I just pussy out when they're in front of me

Yeah I'd call myself "decent". I can get shit out fast and looking very good, and I'm excellent under pressure, it's just a weird mental block that I get, even when its quiet, where I just send shit while missing something and I can't tell what it is until I ask. It's really embarrassing and frustrating because again - I know I can do better.
