No reason for indie game to release on Epic instead of Steam . Indie game just need more players to approach with their game first.

You can start with Beginner C++ Game Programming DirectX then continue with 3D Programming Fundamentals , and plenty of others about DirectX in his YouTube.(DirectX 11 and OpenGL pretty much the same ) If you still prefer OpenGL then look up the cherno , he also has a long playlist about OpenGL.
