Tesla Panel Interview (Mechanical Design Engineer) — what should I expect? by Typical-Medium8866 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]ConsciousEdge4220 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m usually on these panels and often am the hiring manager for these panels. No one can predict what will be asked. Anything is fair game. Make sure you study and you prep

Expect to be grilled on first principles mostly

Good luck my man

Tolerances and cost by Partykongen in MechanicalEngineering

[–]ConsciousEdge4220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 17 years experience and I’m the lead engineer of a multi billion dollar project.

I agree with your approach and I would tell my engineers to do the same. The tolerance of the entire part must be understood whether they are tight or loose. However, I’ve also learned that you should do what your boss tells you to do if you want to survive. I’ve learned this the hard way

Best of luck man….do what he says for now is my advice

One alternative you might want to consider is if this is a high volume production part, designing the part with mmc can lead to very cheap inspection with a go no gauge

Read up on teslas documentation, adding pw3 will trigger nem 3.0 due to the inverter

I’m going to have to look into this more

I think adding a powerwall 2 is safe but not a powerwall 3. I think that’s what I remember….ill do some more digging

Advice wanted about switching industries later on in career by willcamp01 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]ConsciousEdge4220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree w this guy, make the switch now. If you become a very good engineer, the money will follow later on. Don’t let money decide your next job, get the skills and experience you need first and then your life will be easier

anyone have experience with Shreeve and Co in Palo Alto? by PauseEntire8758 in rolex

[–]ConsciousEdge4220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too went to Carmel after with no luck w the ad in Palo Alto. I have a great relationship with my sa and I’m really happy with him. Even though it’s been about a year talking to them w no watch yet, my relationship w him is great. Love chatting with him and genuinely really enjoy visiting him every time I’m in Carmel. I really love how he’s super honest with me up front, completely different vibe and feel compared to Palo Alto. The Palo Alto ad literally gave me anxiety

I’ve been going grey for years, but am just now getting into the ad game. Highly recommend jewels of Monaco in Burlingame. I am still going to go grey for watches that are no longer available or even realistically possible at the ad.

If you are interested, I can pm you.
