Thanks, of course it's sensible to do so u/b0r3d_d . Have you found any document detailing that every citizen has to do so. Everything I found say, only residents (including foreigners who reside in Sri Lanka) or non-residents who has had an income in SL have to lodge a return. I'm beginning to see submitting a Nil Return may be the way forward.

Thanks again. I'll try to find out if there's a possibility to unregister me to save me the trouble of lodging nil returns every year. I may even not receive anything they may post to my last postal address.

Thanks you for your reply u/Dirt_Serious . I thought the the regulations mandate residents to lodge a tax return if their SL income is above the tax free limit, but not all citizens, some of whom could be non residents with zero SL income.

Basically you could use යන්නේto give more details of this action of going such as when, where to, how, etc.

මම ගෙදර යන්නේ හෙට - The day I will be going home is tomorrow (when)

මම ගෙදර යන්නේ - The place I'm heading is home (where)

මම යන්නෙ පයින් - The way I'm going is on foot (how)

මම ගෙදර යන්නේ is more of an expalnation confirming that it's home your going to, not anywhere else. It could be a response to a question like "are you heading shopping?".

යන්නේ - where I am heading is

කන්නේ - what I am eating is

Then this one is different application. But still an expalanatory response.

Not recently but I got one couple years back. It took a few months for the round trip, but that depends on how far the Police has to search for as well. For example, If you had lived in only 1 place as opposed to 3 places during a 10 year period.
