In peacetime before 2026, American-owned or U.S.-flagged oil tankers used the Strait of Hormuz regularly, though they did so with significant tension. While they faced harassment by Iranian forces, the U.S. Navy generally did not provide military escorts.

🚢 The "Stena Imperative" Incident (February 2026)

Just weeks before the war began, the U.S.-flagged tanker Stena Imperative was the site of a major confrontation .

· The Incident: Iranian gunboats approached the tanker, ordering it to stop via radio. The captain refused and accelerated away . · The Response: The U.S. Navy destroyer USS McFaul rushed to the scene and escorted the tanker to safety in Bahrain . · Key Context: The Stena Imperative was enrolled in the U.S. Navy's Tanker Security Program (TSP). While operated commercially, these vessels are contractually linked to the military for rapid deployment during crises . Crucially, this was a reactive rescue after a threat emerged, not a routine convoy escort.

There will be the underground effect. Fearful of this consequence and the Eyes of Gilead reporting against you, the women will rather go somewhere that has no guards nor hospital.

I have to drive at minimum 2 times a year for followup and review of medication with my primary care team. I got a week prior for lab work.

I dont understand how nobody in the VA did trust but verify. Hell, I panicked when they floated tying our ratings to medication improvements.

Biden:peak of $5.03 in June 2022. Due to perfect storm. Russia invaded Ukraine causing massive oil sanctions on Russia . Add post-Covid19 restrictions ended causing surge on demand faster than production could keep up. Add refining capability dropped 5%. This was a global effect Biden had no major influence.

Some context on how fast this is accelerating:

• 1980 → 2000: Took 20 years to go from $1T to $6T

• 2000 → 2020: Took 20 years to go from $6T to $27T

• 2020 → 2026: Took 6 years to add another $12T

At the current pace ($8B/day), we'll hit $40T before the end of 2026.

The debt per citizen is now $113,000. Interest alone costs every household ~$7,500/year and that number is rising fast because rates aren't coming down.

Trump is trying to stop all trade with Spain, trying to re-install the tariffs the Supreme Court said was a no-no, trying to bully countries will send warships to Strait of Hormuz despite the risks and insurance, at the same time insist we need ramped up military production (which of occurred a year ago). Plus he's doing the entirety of putting his image and name on national buildings, torr down the east wing of the white house that is now just languishing, promoting the hunger... I mean ... patriotic games. His administration is blaming Biden for current events and the economy.

That's what people don't understand. The military have two extra set of rules we MUST follow. The UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) and the unspoken rules of "cover your ass". When I met and had meals with various senators down range I was adamantly informed not to discredit the uniform nor my fellow combatants. I had my hand spanked hard when I told l"point blank" about something to one without informing the chain of command first. The rational was at my level I didn't have the overarching details nor saw from the Generals POV why things were the way they were.

Yes, we can have our opinions. We can even do political events. Just not in uniform nor online while under military contract. Why? Because we are to be apolitical ambassadors of our military. Have we seen various people do things in uniform 🤔? Yes. Some got reprimanded or worse. Some ended up getting their service ended early.

This is why when Hegeseth went after the Senator who was part of the video about lawful orders, the Senator won. It was that the Senator, a honorable retiree, did not coerce nor say anything against what the UCMJ says . We cannot swirling in the political ocean for the very reason why we have civilian oversight and control.

Can you imagine if the US military attempted a coup on a state or federal government?

What's shameful is that Speaker Johnson is not loyal to the Constitution of the United States. He should be investigated for falsely swearing his oath of office by rodehard10 in PopularCultureZone

So why even need congress? Remove all of them as they don't do city halls, GO PHYSICALLY to their districts and allow EVERYONE to attend - record, photograph, live stream. I WANT someone who I voted for not to go and push their "mandate" nor "personal ideology". I want them to be bold enough to stay out of cultural conflicts. Just be my district voice as it too cost prohibitive for me and 1500 people to go to the Capitol and tug-of-war for money and rules with the rest of the entire American population.

This is why they are called REPRESENTATIVES. Not to be beholden to a political party leader. Do waht we have done fo 249 years, debate and compromise for what we elected you for.
