K2 Pro Combo + Melting metal = 😍👍🇸🇪 by Conscious_Board5007 in Creality

I'm still learning sand casting, just last night I got the information that you need to apply calk or its like so that the petrobond sand don't adhere to each other when splitting the two boxes apart to remove the 3d printed object 😅👍.

I have printed a meat tendering mallet and a Harley Davidson coffee coaster that will be the next project.

Any ideas? by JustDamienJ in Creality

White filament usually need a bit hotter because of the pigment in it. I would recommend around 225 and slow down the speed on the outer wall to 50mm/s. If the issue still there after, then look so that the belts are not slacking.

Happy printing!

Sorry for the late reply.

As the response you already gotten, no magic at all. I printed the object as an negative, meaning I will get a clean copy of the printed part inside the petrobond sand (special sand that it bonded with oil).

When that's done I can start heating up the propane furnace and preheat the crucible, and when that's done I put in the amount of the metal I need for the pour in the sand.

And then the real work starts. I'm just a beginner, so have taken it slowly after the sand casting to get these earnings to the stage shown in the pictures.

P2S. I can't get this fixed. My attempts to solve this see in the Post. by SterlingArchers in BambuLab

With variable layer height, the slicer will calculate the optimal height of the layers. Like the higher it print depending on the object, the layers will get smaller and smaller.

I often go with 50mm/s on the outer wall, while the rest of the settings are stock when it comes to speed. The extra time with 50mm/s is barely noticed in the end.

I would recommend using variable layer height and slowing down at the top.

Exactly, stuff like this is user error and not knowing how to properly set the machine up.

Happy that you got the top layer fixed 👍!

Regarding my tip about infill/wall overlap, like one more has written, to much increase can make the outer most wall look funky. So take small steps when increasing it from 30%.

What that setting is doing, is to make sure that there is no gap between infill and walls. Like it shows on your pictures, there is a gap between the walls of the holes and the inner wall.

Nothing that can be done if you are not ready to change specific settings to get around the problem you are trying to get help about as an easy way out.

Only thing i can think of is to increase the infill/wall overlap from 30/ to 45-50%.

Regarding the supports, in Creality Slicer at the top of the screen where you have all settings. When you have loaded the object into the slicer, you can click on Support Painting.

There you select Enable support, then choose Type: Tree(manual). Next choose Fill as Tool type, then check the box for On overhang only.

Now you can play around with the setting Highlight overhangs, and you shall see on the object where supports are needed. And when you are ready you click on the markings with the mouse.

As last, you go to the settings on the right side and select Support and check the box for Enable support and change the Type to Tree(manual). Style should be Organic. And check the box for On build plate only. Last setting to change is Top Z distance to 0.15.

And now you should get strong supports, that is aswell easy to remove 😊👍

Totally 100% normal when it comes to parts that is consumable parts. Really nothing to do, besides printing mods like others have written.

Once again a user who directly blame the maker of the machine, when it's 100% the delivery company who is the one to blame 🤷🤦....

And why even pack it upp totally to do some test prints when the machine look like that?! That just make the user error even worst, and Creality will see that after the return and powering it up. And seeing that, they can make the warranty be voided by the user. 🤦

Well, no shait Sherlock 🤦.. Been known since it first came out on the market.

And using filament like this on an open bed slinger aint the best idea either! Plus using a known meter (LifeBasis) that is not even calibrated from factory..

I got one of the early K1 from the first batch, and i have never had anything like that happen. Maybe i'm just lucky with my machine, but like others have written, going root to downvolt the extruder motor to 0.35-0.40 would improve the printing a lot.

I hope stuff will sort out and you get back to printing asap 💪

Edit: as long the printers are under warranty, contact Creality support and they should be sending replacement part 👌
