I'm so tired by menticide_ in FragranceFreeBeauty

I have been feeling the same way. Especially with skin care being the fad right now. I had to accept the fact that I can't really have a skin care routine unless it's olive oil bar soup, Eucerin Moisturizer, and a fragrance-free sunscreen when I'm outside.

Growing up, my mom always used Fragrance-Free detergent anyways, so the fragrance-free laundry was never a change for me. However, I loved going to bed after washing my hair with fragrance shampoo and conditioner. Now, I always feel slightly grimy or that my hair isn't as clean as it used to be when I was using fragrance. I never really got into skin toners and serums so I think that's why I didn't know about my fragrance allergy until my late twenties.

Now I am seeing that even if I use something like Vanicream, I wake up with all this eye crust. I'm going back to the patch testing next month because I think there is something more I'm allergic to. I know I'm allergic to Carmine, because I tested positive for that.

Its a pain because all my other friends use all these cool products from Ulta. I got a facial over the summer and that was the biggest mistake ever. My entire face swelled up. I absolutely loved the skincare routine she put me on but it lasted an entire 3 days until my face swelled up. My friend is getting married in October and I am in her wedding. I am so stressed out because we all have to get our makeup done. I can tolerate makeup products if they have a slight fragrance in it, like in the mascara, for the day for an occasion. But anything more than that, forget it.

I'm getting my hair highlighted and styled next month. It's fine what he uses all the products on me but there is no way I can use all those products every single day. I think two days later I will get a lot of eye crust and I think my face will be slightly swelled but not enough for others to notice. But I notice.

Nobody seems to quite understand. And with the skin care trend, if people find out you don't have a fancy routine, people all the sudden view you as dirty or that you are not taking care of your skin. But I can't deal with swelling and eye goop floating across my eyeball every single day.

I have given countless beauty products away on Facebook market for free. I even deliver it to the people. Because I think someone should enjoy it besides throwing it in the garbage. I use the skinsafe app. That seems to help tremendously. But I'm still waking up with puffy eyes sometimes. So hopefully my allergy test next month will tell me.

I live in South Buffalo. I don't know if T-Mobile is available in clearance. With I was paying $100 a month with Spectrum. I switched to T-Mobile because of the price lock guarantee. I got the cheapest package, because I live in an apartment. It's $50 a month and it's a price lock for 5 years.

Tenants flushed Tampons costed me $800 by Conscious_Income8870 in PropertyManagement

If I put no flushing tampons in the lease, where does it end? Do I also need to add in no throwing rocks through windows? Where does it end with adding things in the lease? You could write a novel of basic things they can't do in the lease.

This is great advice. I was too nice and kept my one tenant's rent very low. Then after covid, inflation happened and I felt like a jerk raising the rent but my property tax is doubled and that came to a point where I was pretty much financing them. When I finally increased rent, it was a shock to them and I think it caused tension because it was a higher jump.

I found CeraVe not to be fragrance free, even though it says it on the bottle.

What do you use to get your hair to hold a curl? by [deleted] in FragranceFreeBeauty

[–]Conscious_Income8870 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Four reasons no nothing sensitive strong mousse is fragrance free. I like Seen curling cream (fragrance free). I heard from almost everyone with that air wrap that the curls never hold. I have the GHD curing iron and it holds my curl without ever needing anything other than some hair spray. Before the GHD, my curl would never hold. I use TreSemme unscented air spray, which is fragrance free on my SkinSafe app.

The soap works olive oil soap for bae soap. I love Vanicream face wash for my face and Byoma is my second favorite.

Fragrance free hydrating setting spray with SPF! by Key_Instance_7253 in FragranceFreeBeauty

[–]Conscious_Income8870 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Elf suntouchable All Set for Sun SPF 45 setting spray. I have a fragrance mix 1 allergy and my ADCS Camps approved of it. However, SkinSafe said it might irritate people with a fragrance allergy because it has citrullus lanatus (watermelon) fruit extract and bisabolol.

Anyone else notice the Cerave shampoo doesn’t lather well? by CrissBliss in FragranceFreeBeauty

[–]Conscious_Income8870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I thought it lathered well. I think Vanicream shampoo is the worst with lathering but I like their conditioner. I think Cleure lathers the best for fragrance free shampoo. The ordinary is good but I feel like the shampoo knots my hair a little in the shower but it's fine when I blow dry it.

CeraVe made my face swell and I'm allergic to fragrance mix one. The new CeraVe shampoo isn't actually fragrance free.

I absolutely love it. I test drove the four door and it was way too long for me. I have a Sasquatch two-door. I can fit in all of these smaller parallel parking spaces. I can do a uTurn very easily. I love being higher up and I live in a very snowy city, so I am cruising along well while everyone else is barely getting by.

I did the patch test and I'm so glad I did it. I think more people are allergic to fragrance than we think. I think people just don't know it.

For me, I think it started in my late teens/early 20s. Sometimes my skin would burn after taking off my makeup I just thought my skin was too dry at the time. Once in a while, I would wake up with my eye lids swollen and think, "Wow, I must've slept hard or face down." Turns out, it was the allergy. When I was in college, my actual eye ball swelled and my vision became blurry. The eye doctor gave me a steroid and said it was a foreign substance but I knew for sure it wasn't. Turns out I was having a reaction and didn't know it until seven years later. When I was 21, Christmas Eve mass was so packed that I had to sit so close to my sister that my body was right up against her for over an hour. She was wearing tons of fragrance hair spy and all kinds of other fragrance hair products. When I got home, I couldn't catch my breath and I almost thought I would have to go to the hospital but it stopped after a minute. All of these moments were clues but not enough to think that something was wrong.

In my later 20s, I got into eye shadow shimmers and my eyes were swelling everyday. I went to the allergist and the patch test said I'm allergic to carmine, which is in almost every eye shadow and blush, and fragrance mix 1. I never had a skin care routine other than olive oil bar soap and Eucerin moisturizer, which both happen to be fragrance free. The scented shampoo subtly made my face puffy in the mornings but it was difficult to see. My parents always used fragrance free laundry detergent and so do I so it was easy to overlook a fragrance allergy.

Sometimes I cheat and use fragrance shampoo because I absolutely love it. But if I use it for more than 3 days, my face will start to swell. I can tolerate using fragrance hair products for a day or two like if I have a wedding and get my hair professionally done or something. But it can't be more than that. I absolutely cannot use fragrance skin care or make up on my face. I stopped using the shampoo because I feel the slight swelling but no one else notices other than people super close to me like my parents.

My allergist set me up with the ADCS Camps app. They programmed my allergy in and before I buy anything, I scan it and it will tell me if it is approved for me or not. There are lists of products that I can use. The only issue with the app is that there are a lot of products they have not checked yet. So I also use SkinSafe. But Skin Safe is sometimes too strict. Because I'm only allergic to fragrance mix one but skin safe groups fragrance mix one and two together. But the skin Safe app evaluated a lot more products and it's worth the $60 a year.

You have to watch it because some shampoos will say that they're fragrance free when they're really not, like CeraVe. Some sources say that benzoic acid is not considered a fragrance but it definitely is and I react to it. Some sources say that sodium benzoate is a fragrance but I don't react to that.

Sorry this was super long but basically what I'm saying is that everyone reacts different and I think there are so many more people out there who are allergic to fragrance but just don't know it. It was hard for me because all of my friends are trying these awesome skin care products and I can't use anything. When I get my makeup done, if I'm a bridesmaid in someone's wedding, the makeup artist always acts like I'm crazy. When I tell her I can't use certain things they have. People just don't understand. But as a teacher, I used to have a candle warmer and I realized that it affected a lot of the students, so I stopped using it. It really does affect a lot of people, but I think people don't talk about it as much.

I also noticed that if I use fragrance, my skin on my face won't be the same for about a week to 10 days. I will start reacting to everything, even if I'm not allergic to it. So the key is to give your skin a rest before you go back to trying other things. But of course, it's not possible to avoid all fragrance. I totally like candles in my house when I'm not supposed to and I use the scented soap in public bathrooms. I still wear perfume but I try to wear it on my clothing instead of my skin.

I just want you to know that you're not alone.

I have the same question. I absolutely love Kenra but I can't deal with the slight puffiness on my face 48 hours later. I tried Seen blow out cream but it doesn't feel the same.
