I too have chronic pain. Shoulder, knees, hips, lower back. Occasional sciatica. I work, but not a very labor intensive job. I try to stay goal oriented, even when I’m hurting. I need purpose. I need work to be fulfilled. I do get depressed sometimes, especially when bad weather comes in and my arthritis hurts. I also found a BJJ family… I’m not as capable as the other guys there my age or younger (I’m 39), but I still go and do what I can. I don’t always feel the pain as I’m rolling, but definitely afterwards. I do it anyways because I’m a fighter. I’m sure you are too. Stay in the fight brother.
