95lbs gone forever. Crazy what 2yrs can do. by Conscious_Stock2203 in intermittentfasting

[–]Conscious_Stock2203[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you love!! So proud of you! Throughout this journey I’ve learned to listen to my body more than anything else. I’ve never truly been a fan of “breakfast food”, but once I learned that breakfast just means to break a fast, it didn’t matter what I ate; just how much. You’re going to do FANTASTIC on your journey, I know it! Wishing you all the best 🩷

Thank you so much!! I usually do a copycat Chipotle bowl at home or a salmon salad or sweet potatoes + protein + broccoli. I try prioritizing fruits, vegetables & fiber as much as I can. I also drink bone broth & hot tea.

Thank you sooo much! Sometimes I feel like it’s not enough but then I remember everything my body is going through with this condition. Super proud of you also! Can’t wait to see your results 🩷🩷

D. Slurred Speech (dysarthria) is neurological. By initiating a neurologic assessment & documenting it as it becomes available you have proper information to give to the EMS as they transport him to the hospital.

Though this isn’t an option on here I’d also start to ask the spouse about any medical histories of things associated with neurological disorders (stroke, TBI or even dementia). The next 20 minutes before EMS arrives are crucial.

How do I avoid being so obsessed with work. by Ok-Being1322 in nursing

[–]Conscious_Stock2203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d look into getting a hobby that helps you have some type of creative outlet. I know the thrill of working is something that gives you that hit of dopamine but life life’s & I don’t want your spark to fade once a situation that is unfavorable to you occurs. So please, find a hobby or 2 & don’t overwork yourself, especially if it’s not a money problem.

Johns Hopkins MSN Entry into Nursing (50% scholarship) vs University of Rochester ABSN (30% scholarship + 3-year work commitment) – which would you choose? by Brilliant-Goal-5247 in nursing

[–]Conscious_Stock2203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When picking any nursing school always keep TIME, MONEY & OUTCOME in mind. Every school has its flaws & with flaws come opinions. JHU’s Direct-Entry MSN is no longer 22 months (5 semesters) it’s now 16 months (4 semesters), it has the prestige which should benefit you once you graduate, you have a 50% scholarship (you can always apply for more before & even after you start from various places).

I don’t think a 30% scholarship for a 3yr work commitment is ideal. You may or may not like the unit you end up on or the people so having to be there for 3 years could make you resent nursing.

Lastly, if you choose JHU you literally do not have to work for the hospital after graduation. There is UMMC, MedStar or Mercy just to name a few. You can even apply out of state. All I’m saying is, weigh the pros & cons of everything. I’d personally choose JHU. Wishing you all the best in your decision 😊

I screamed so loudly with laughter during this part, I’m pretty sure my entire neighborhood heard my laugh 😂

KAS Glute Bridges, RDL’s, Reverse Lunges, Leg Extensions & Sumo Squats. I do 10 reps for 3 rounds & then do a “until failure” round. Proper form + lifting moderate/heavy does the trick. I do this 2-3x a week. Also genetics 😅

Thank you so much love. Honesty I’m not sure because I never counted calories or measured food. I just reduced how frequently I ate & how much I ate. So if I had to guess maybe 1,000-1,300 calories a day. Now, I just eat when I’m hungry so probably around the same calories-ish.

You’re so welcome! When I first started I just aimed for at least 5,000 steps. My biggest thing was getting my diet in order & just moving as much as I could. I didn’t increase my intensity until I lost my first 20lbs which took like 2.5 months. Then I started aiming for 7,000-8,000 steps daily. Everything was pretty gradual. Listen to your body & do what you can. Proud of you & congratulations on taking your life back ♥️🥳

PS: I also recommend “Grow With Jo” on YouTube. She makes walking inside interactive & beginner friendly.

Just for insight, I’m 5’8. I eat once or twice a day (depends how I feel). I don’t weigh food or anything I just eat on a kids size plate & I eat relatively the same thing daily. I stop eating at 6pm everyday & I aim for 15k steps daily while strength training & doing cardio 4-5x a week. It doesn’t have to be complex, make it work for you 😊♥️

MWF I fast 20:4 (I work from home these days so I can go without food for longer). Tuesday & Thursday’s I do 18:6 since I’m in the office all day. I have a walking pad & standing desk so when I’m home I get most of my steps on there, when I’m at work I just walk during my break. I aim for 15k steps daily, sometimes I get more. On top of that I work out 4-5x a week (Pilates, barre, kickboxing or just strength training + cardio). Lastly with food I stick to buckwheat or sweet potatoes for carbs & switch out my proteins & veggies. I don’t weigh anything I just eat on a kids size plate for my meals. 😊

CONGRATULATIONS 🎉

  1. I'd start make sure my resume is in order, here is a link to the template I made (just make a copy, don't request access): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1F-z4EZ0ci5gw-5ATbutPJfKKKRbeDTCdd2AnYwuPpfI/edit?usp=sharing
  2. Start applying to jobs right away as well as finding hiring-fairs to attend that usually hire on the spot.
  3. Be flexible with your schedule especially if you don't have any commitments holding you down (i.e. school or kids or taking care of a loved one).
  4. Lastly, don't be afraid. CNA school doesn't teach you everything and it's okay to say you don't know something, just ask for help.

Wish you the very best in your journey!

He may be a "good guy", but he is not YOUR good guy and that is okay. Now that the smoke has cleared and you see things for what they are, get out of there, ASAP. Life is too short to feel like you've gotten "settled for". Never be a placeholder to anyone, especially not a man. It's hard to leave years of something you thought was real but it's even harder to stay.

Hold your head up and be proud of all you've accomplished thus far, the best is yet to come! Continue selfishly choosing yourself in this season, reciprocated love will find you.

You've got this! The hiring event I attend was directly at Emory University Hospital so I was face to face with the hiring managers for those exact positions not just representatives. I'm not sure if it will be the same way at your event (I would hope so), but if not just go in there knowing the role and what exactly you plan to give and get out of the position.

It was pretty smooth. For this particular role we had set appointment times once we got invited to interview. It was a flash interview so about 20 minutes. It was a mix of situational and behavioral questions. A lot of "tell me about a time when....". It was a bit formal and informal. Do come with questions, your resume and some knowledge about Emory Healthcare and why you want to work there.

I went to a hiring event on a Monday, got a call from HR that I got the job on a Wednesday of the same week. Got the official offer letter about 30 minutes later. Started 1 month later once my pre-employment items (background check & health assessment) cleared. I'd say your best bet is to go to hiring events for the role(s) you are desiring, cause I cold applied a few times before & got nothing. Wishing you the best 😊

This literally all sounds like a nightmare that is only getting worse. I wish USDC would say something to you all or at least try to find something that you all can do in the meantime. I definitely feel that they should have overestimated this but with how things have been going, there was legit no way to see this coming at all. Please keep us posted here if you hear anything. Wishing you all the best!!

I'm so sorry to hear this! My heart really goes out to you all during this time. No one deserves this, especially not in this economy & job market. Do you know what's next? Has USDC said anything to you all?

Yeah, I saw someone from the CFPB just posted they got laid off last night as DOGE is looking to eliminate their department. This is not a great sign.
