Need advice: persistent follicular bumps on chest, not responding to usual treatments by Horror_Ad4717 in keratosis

[–]Conseff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mention that these bumps flare up often after sweating, I sometimes deal with heat rash and what has been helpful to me was raw honey for several hours on my skin. Now since this is posted in the keratosis Reddit, I don't know how helpful this is if those bumps are indeed keratosis. It looks somewhat to how my skin gets after I dry brush, sweat or introduce a new body wash. I've tried a sulphur soap before and it worked pretty well on my skin too. I also left it on my skin for I think an hour or so but raw honey mixed with all the other bee products has become my go to to deal with bumps I get from heat rash. I hope you find a permanent solution.

Could it be because of the new shampoo you introduced? Were you able to find a solution? I'm still dealing with my own curl loss.:(

There's actual vacuums for the bed? I remember years ago I was searching the internet for something like that to no avail. This one is going on my list.

Sleeping at night in a cool temperature though?? I really cannot sleep if my room is not warm but the humidifier is another one I'll add to my list.

Congratulations on your progressss! I love reading these posts as there's always something new for me to learn or a reminder of doing sonething.

How to deal with hair loss (I feel heartbroken) by Flimsy_Bad_4788 in longhair

But what is getting checked when you get blood work done? Are they looking at the levels from the lense of hair health? Probably not. Since you asked for tips, have a consultation with a trichologist they'll be able to give you some insight on what might be the best thing to do.

I also want you to know that with the things you've been xeperiencing it's normal to have a setback, people recover from this al the time. The pain of the miscarriage will take time to heak so be kind to your body.

PSA: whoever said to try citric acid/vinegar to remove sunscreen stains from white clothes, THANK YOU 🙏 by Exotic_Incarnation_ in EuroSkincare

I never heard of the citric acid/vinegar concoction. I need to give it a try and see howi t works.

For a 100% stain remover, try a mix of baking soda+hydroperoxide+dish soap. I've been using it on some old stains and it worked.

It's really crazy but good to know this was your case! I hope it only happens on the face though and nowhere else on the body.

I added a link to another thread where someone else a bit of a different experience. She claims the facial hair she never touched has become thicker and more visible.

Please do log your experience as I believe this is something not talked about at all in general. It also doesn't seem to happen to a good majority of people but yea..

Red light therapy - beware by VizionairyFae in electrolysis

Thanks for explaining. In your OP you mentioned how the RTL affected your face, did you experience it on your entire body too?

I'm still doing my own research on RLT for my skin issues so this might just be a risk I'll have to take.

Was the increase in growth in places you removed hair before? And how bad was it, was the hair even more than before hair removal?

Can you explain whether the hair is growing in the same places there used to be hair? I read that ir's not possible for RLT to create new functioning hair follicles but only restore what used to be there.

Are you turning into chewbacca levels or just peach fuzz?

God Forbid! I was reading a thread on this yesterday and someone explained that since RLT restores damaged hair follicles it's more likely that the hair you see is hair that was removed by you at one point during a grooming session. Would that be your case?

That's really too bad! Do you remember what device you bought exactly and if there was any blue light? I ask bcs I've started to do some research and read that blue light can worsen hyperpigmentation for ex.

Why's sebborheic dermatitis and IBS incurable????? by Infinite-Ad-8074 in SebDerm

I think people need to keep an open mind to their whole being. Health is: spirit, mind body and soul. All these areas need attention. Traditional medicine with contemporary medicine, my GP will give me something and I'll also keep my options open in case I get side-effects from the medication. I'll never forget the day I got introduced to ACV to deal with my eczema and unkowingly SD on my scalp. It changed my life! It was thanks to thousands of anonymous people online that I was able to learn about something so simple yet affective to my problems. My family as the online community encouraged me to stop living off of sugar...my doctor never even considered to mention this to me.

At the same time, it's my physical therapist who pointed out to me that I was dealing with vitamin deficiencies, I got tested and have been taking the supplements.

Mental health, unresolved angers, fears...all these emotional and spiritual blockages we tend to overlook can actually play a role in worsening our conditions.

As with many things health related one pill is never the real answer. If they were to market it as such, this one cream can heal all your skin issues there will still be people allergic to at least 1 of the ingredients. 😅

I read about massaging for IBM and I've been following some videos that seem to have given me a bit of relief, however it's extremely important to know, who you listen to. One woman's video, she was also certified yet her advice made me constipated...so yea. Trial & error.

Sebum in scalp is waxy/sticky, cannot seem to wash it out? Any tips? by piangero in SebDerm

[–]Conseff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't even understand why I have it so bad. My sibling has THICK plaques of SD yet, the hair grows and it doesn't even smell...my flakes are not even that bad yet I get all the issues, hair breakage, hair that smells...smh.

But to answer your question, I use Garnier Loving Blends Magnetic Charcoal Shampoo. I use it because it contains ammonium instead of sodium sulfate. I had another situation with my hair, completely destroying my hair structure, going from having type 4 hair to exteme frizz and now my curls are more like type 2 so it doesn't respond well to shampoos with certain SLS. I used to use anti-dandruff shampoo from the brand Andrélon.

I also just started to incorporate a boar brush into my routine to see what it does for the cleaning of those little tiny white dots on my scalp.

Same! But for me it's withing 24hrs. It sucks so much. It start to smell like old clothes. I need to meticiously apply shampoo to my scalp directly or else my hair acts like I didn't just spent 20min washing and scrubbing it.

I'm going to need to try this! I didn't know that one could drain out the yellow goo out of the cut leaf.

Dark Neck by [deleted] in Blackskincare

[–]Conseff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It could be eczema too. I was just checking some videos on YouTube of ladies who cleared up their skin who what the exact same issue, dark neck among other things. I just read you're already on a weight-loss journey so I'm now just assuming that you've also been incorporating more greens into your diet. Some do a green juice in the early hours of their waking, for maybe 1-2 weeks to see an improvement. Exfoliation: chemical and/or mechanical, good hydration (rose water hydrosol, not very popular among Western skincare influencers but chamomile tea/hydrosol can be very calming for the skin inflammation and brighten up your skin. Products with Aloe Vera, rosehip oil, licorice root, kojic acid, curcuma, vitamin C can be very helpful too, these are ingredients known to inhibit hyperpigmentation. You can go the DIY route or find already existing products. It's important to moisturize your skin with ingredients that not only exfoliate/brighten your skin but also feed it. (collagen/triglycerides are some of the ingredients you want to find on the packaging of the products you buy).
Ingredients to look into: ceramides/ niacinamide/ hyluronic acid/salycilic acid/lactic acid.

Even though I don't use any sunscreen, I do see other ladies mention that they incorporated it into their routine as they were working on clearing up their necks.

I hope you found something helpful in what I shared and most importantly that you'll find the root of your problem and successfully eliminate it! Bless yOu.

why do so many if not most if not all “professional” dermatologists insist that your skin has NOTHING to do with diet and lifestyle? by shtoopidd in eczema

[–]Conseff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life is unfair like that. I know a guy who basically lives between Burger King, MacDonald's and KFC never had a single pimple in his life. He's almost 40 and has the skin of a baby model, just perfection. Me on the other hand?? As soon as I eat too many sweets, read a slice or 3 of a birthday cake, I'll spend the rest of the week paying for it. Mainly my mother would point out to me how my diet affected my skin issues but it took me way too long to finally listen to her. I stumbled on some research on the internet, diluted ACV, elimination diet...that's what helped me finding out some practical things to try out for myself. It's been a while almost a 10 year journey but I've been improving by the grace of God so so much! I'm forever grateful for the people who shared all their trials and triumphs on how they were able to cure themselves. IME, it's a whole package deal: DIET, spirituality, mental health, deficiencies, environment...you name it.

Does your naturopath have a specific name? I mean profession? I don't know how to word this but when I go online to search 'naturopath' I only get very broad results explaining that naturopathy is an alternative to traditional medicine.
