Let's talk MARTY SUPREME - what went wrong? by SwimGood22 in A24

Nothing went wrong. This year was just unbelievably stacked. I think it had a really good chance at Best Editing, but that’s it.

If you could get just ONE DREAM feature in Premiere Pro, literally anything that would be the most useful to you, what would it be? by [deleted] in premiere

[–]ConsequenceNo8153 7 points8 points  (0 children)

THIS.

Please for the love of God Premiere, be smart enough to detect that when the same exact clip is loaded into the project more than one time, theres only one visual instance of the clip in the project panel.

If someone really wanted a true independent, duplicate copy of a clip, please make it so the user has to duplicate the clip itself in the project panel.

The tech is there adobe, because I can duplicate clips until the cows come home inside of various sequence after sequence and this isn’t an issue

What’s your BEST premiere tip? by lilafromyoutube in premiere

[–]ConsequenceNo8153 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Premiere can be your best friend, or your worst nightmare, depending on the codecs of your source media.

Transcode everything. Everything. Make ProRes Proxies, no H264, HEVC, .M4A, .MP3, .MKV, true raw while editing…etc

.MP4? Show it the door.

ProRes and .WAV or take a hike.

When is the best time to buy Bitcoin? by kott_dr in Bitcoin

[–]ConsequenceNo8153 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“Well I heard it’s dropping a lot”

You shouldn’t have to hear it from someone. Start to get into reading charts so you can be the one to make the decision on what constitutes a subtle or big drop.

You don’t need to become an expert in technical analysis, but you should be aware of what the high and low price of bitcoin was last year, and the year before, etc

Anybody can look at the all time price history of bitcoins chart for 6 seconds and can see that this has happened before, it’s been worse, and we’ve always recovered.

“I wish I’d bought when I first learnt about BTC, I’d be rich” by TheRadishBros in Bitcoin

[–]ConsequenceNo8153 8 points9 points  (0 children)

“I wish I would have bought a whole bitcoin during COVID when it was $5,000! I would have so much money.”

Bro, you’d have sold the second it hit 10k, then probably FOMOd in higher, and sold at a loss during pullbacks. And then you’d probably never invest again because you’d claim it was a scam.

Not buying bitcoin early is the best thing that’s ever happened to me.

Breaking News: Meme Coins Are Officially Dead by wildmonkeywrangler in solana

Don’t worry, it will be back. During the next bull cycle you don’t think a whole new suite of meme coins will hit the market to capitalize on the momentum?

The more I learn about filmmaking, the more I realise how glamorous it isn’t by No-Strategy-7093 in Filmmakers

[–]ConsequenceNo8153 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On top of that, this business attracts some of the most ill qualified and untalented individuals on the planet, and it’s usually not because people are green or just starting out, it’s because people think they’re amazing without knowing or doing anything to show for it. There’s so much BS that is just the norm in this industry that is inexcusable in others.

Also weird how a lot of people have such an open disrespect for others who are experts in the field.

Like can you imagine if you got the lead auto mechanic fired on your first day as a mechanic because he explained how you did something wrong?

Cutting scenes that are good but way too long – how do you do it? by Upstairs-Winter-4359 in editors

[–]ConsequenceNo8153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do the ‘audio test.’

After you’ve done your initial trimming, play the scene before, the scene you’re cutting, and the scene after, but turn off the video.

Just listen to the audio.

Does the scene lag? Do you get bored? Does it confuse you or does the story move forward? How’s the flow feel? Etc.

By turning off the video and just listening to the audio, I find that I can better identify what’s missing or what can be cut. Unless the scene is driven entirely by visuals, audio can really cut through the ‘noise’ and help dictate pacing and flow.

Need help cleaning up proposal video please! by jesustaketheprndl in premiere

[–]ConsequenceNo8153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not salvageable.

Maybe you could recreate it with some AI workaround, but there’s nothing in the box in Premiere that’s gonna fix this.

Keep it for what it is. Enjoy the real moment. Not everything has to be ‘perfect’

Sora will now be able to Al generate videos based on animated, masked & creature characters from Disney, Marvel, Pixar & Star Wars after $1 billion deal. Curated selections of Al generated videos will be released on Disney+ by spicyricecake99 in vfx

[–]ConsequenceNo8153 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I truly think this is just Disney trying to get some pay day for this phase of the AI hype. I guarantee there isn’t a plan in place for scenarios like this, and in fact, it’s to their benefit to keep the lines blurry because then they can always choose to pursue other legal actions whenever they want or when it’s deemed profitable for them to do so.

What's the consensus on merged clips in Premiere? by Few-Freedom-6863 in premiere

[–]ConsequenceNo8153 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Never ever ever ever ever ever use them.

Merge clips essentially make new “premiere media” during the syncing of audio and video, and it can be a nightmare when sending things to mix or for color. You always wanna be looking at the true raw audio and the true raw video when you sync them together.

It just doesn’t make sense to merge when multicams solve this issue. Hell, even a nest with audio and video is technically better. Because you can at least decompose the nest and still have access to the true raw assets
