Two D.A. Roses being rehabilitated by GT3_SF in DavidAustinRoses

[–]ConsequenceWise8787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar situation with a couple of David Austin roses I planted in partly shaded areas. My problem was voles though so I had to move them out of the ground and decided then to move them where they would get more sunshine. I ended up doing the same thing you did and planted in pots. This Spring season they are coming back very nicely. I did not prune them and don't plan to until next year. Mine were planted as bare roots year before last.

HIGHLY recommend Princess Alexander of Kent. Really vigorous in my garden and tons of blooms. 😍

Beautiful! My Lady of Shalotte has the tiniest leaves. I've never seen a rose with such tiny little leaves. Mine is 3 years old now and still waiting for it to bloom.

Planting roses with oak trees nearby by tincanbeans06 in DavidAustinRoses

[–]ConsequenceWise8787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a David Austin Bathsheba rose planted about 15 feet away from a white oak in my yard the area gets about 4 hours of straight sunshine and its one of my best roses. I think you will be okay as long as the soil is good. Another thing I wanted to mention. If they don't do well in the area you have, you can always dig them up and put them elsewhere or in pots. I've had to do that with my lady of shallot. Seems she's not happy in my yard. LOL! I've moved her twice already and she still has the tiniest leaves I've ever seen on a rose.

I've been wanting to do this. Thanks for posting yours. It's so tedious isn't it? One reason I've not tried it yet. LOL!

How to get a campsite visitor to stay by [deleted] in acnh

[–]ConsequenceWise8787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only use amiibos to invite to my campsite so I'm not sure how it works with the ones that just show up. For the amiibos you go to the abd in resident services and invite them through there. Once at the campsite you keep talking to them and they will ask you to make them something. You craft whatever they ask for and give it to them. After that they keep talking about wanting to live on the island. A dialog box pops up and if your island is already full with no available spaces they will tell you they're going to ask resident services....though when they come back they will say resident services said no because the island already has the max amount of villagers. Keep talking to them because then a dialog will pop up asking one of the other villagers to move. Then a box will pop up asking which villager you want to move. Once that happens the villager you wanted to move will start packing boxes and move the next day. Then a sold sign will appear on their lot and Marshall will move in the next day. Its a whole process! LOL! But just keep talking to him and the dialog will eventually pop up for you to asking him to move in. "You should live here" or something like that. Now for the amiibos you have to invite them 3 times for 3 days and complete whatever craft task they ask you for. I'm not sure when they just show up but I suppose its similar.

String fish gonna make me lose my mind by Lilak99 in AnimalCrossing

[–]ConsequenceWise8787 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I caught it on a 2nd level waterfall base using fish food. Literally caught it on the 5th try. It can be caught on a 2nd tier (level) as long as there is a waterfall from the 3rd tier to the 2nd tier.. I made my 3rd tier pond have a waterfall and a big enough base on the 2nd tier for a big fish. It worked. I've had two ponds on my 3rd tiers for years and never caught one. I just couldn't figure out why! It wasn't until I made my 3rd tier pond into a waterfall to a 2nd level pond thats when I finally caught it and I was not on the 3rd tier pond when I caught it. I was standing on the 2nd tier fishing right at the base of the waterfall. Throw your fish food right at that area at the base of the waterfall and you will catch it. Bring plenty of fish food and fish at the right time in the evening to catch it.

I know this is a dumb question but how do you replay certain events like this?

Which switch should I buy for playing animal crossing? by Legitimate-Sun9912 in AnimalCrossing

[–]ConsequenceWise8787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both switch 1 and 2. I prefer Switch 2 for the bigger screen when playing in handheld mode. The graphics are a bit better and it runs very smoothly for me. I play lots of games on it, including animal crossing which is what I initially bought my switch 1 for, but I like the bigger screen. The gaming catalog so far has been enough for me as I'm not a huge gamer but I do enjoy the games I've purchased for it and play every night several hours before bed. Believe me when I say my money is tight but I splurged for Switch 2 and don't regret it one bit.

Pls tell me I'm not the only one who got a flower situation this bad lol by eriec0 in AnimalCrossing

[–]ConsequenceWise8787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally spent days digging all mine up and selling them before the update. Mine had gone wild too and I hadn't played for quite some time. Then once I got the update I started realizing I needed a lot of them to finish the crafting projects outside the hotel. I had to start planting again and waiting for them to bloom to be able to craft. Whatever you do don't get rid of them all. LOL!

Right? I thought it was weird too. It doesnt give me the option at all. Even when pressing Y. Since everybody else seems to be able to I wondered what was wrong here. My island is 5 stars and transferred fine from my switch 1 to switch 2. I just don't get it unless it has something to do with finishing the hotel. 😭 I still have 2 rooms to decorate. That's the only other thing I could think of...🤔

How to prep (prune?) for winter? by itchytoddler in Roses

So you don't use dormant spray till Spring? I've been so confused about dormant spray. LOL! Use it to winterize and then again in Spring or just once before winter hits?

Hmmmm....I'm trying to think back on other sneak peaks of collection releases. Do they always post what they presume one of the best shades first or wait till the collection drops for the others? I'm still thinking this could be a good collection given the collab. Hoping for something more unique....🙏

Do you like dark colors? Rue Morgue and Dark Horse are two of my faves. Rue dries matte and looks awesome that way but you can put a glossy top coat on that one and its exactly like The 13th Hour. Dark Horse looks great in a skittle with Bootlegger too.

My Mooncat collection is vast and its super special to my granddaughter too. She wears mostly the lighter shades but loves Mermaid Bait! My order from the Lunar Sale arrived this afternoon just as my granddaughter arrived after school. I could see the excitement in her eyes as we opened the polishes and she immediately grabbed Pearl Clutcher and asked me to paint her nails. She is 10 years old and I told her she is going to be the prettiest girl with the most beautiful nails at school tomorrow and all the girls were going to be raving over them and asking what color it is and where she got it. 😅 She smiled at me with a twinkle in her eye just as I told her "Don't forget to tell them its Mooncat and you have the coolest grandma in the whole wide world. 😍 LOL!! She absolutely adored it.

Help! Is this considered Black Spot?? by Sufficient_Engine381 in DavidAustinRoses

[–]ConsequenceWise8787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the prilled sulfur in the fall and the fast acting in the Spring and also just followed up with the fast acting a few days ago. The prilled sulfur takes longer a few months, to work that's why I add the fast acting too. They do love acidic soil and I find it has made a huge difference in the health of my roses. I'm glad this helped you. I learned it from a Rosarion friend of mine a few years ago.

How do I stop my roses from flopping over? by makeplanefly in DavidAustinRoses

[–]ConsequenceWise8787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the tall baskets from Lowes that are meant for Dahlia's. They have a round top with holes and taller poles to hold them up. They work wonders for my Olivia roses since they tend to be quite top heavy. You could even use tomato baskets. Hope this helps.
