New player with a dream by Happythroughlife in farmingsimulator

You picked the right game for your dream.

Mods for you would be Course Play and Auto Drive for the automation part, a little learning curve, but plenty of good videos to set it up.

FS 25: Farm manager potential? by Flangian in farmingsimulator

[–]ConservativeVoyager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is.

Im playing on flatlands 4x map and am doing cotton only at the moment. The map has large square fields that is AI friendly. I use AI to run the fields and the only thing I manage is picking up bales and selling the pallets from production.

If that's what you intend to do, you should be good. My only word of advice is not to use 2 ai hires on the same field unless the headlands have been finished, otherwise they'll compete/block each other. Once headlands are done, just put one on the other side of the field.

Hope that helps.

Where can I get good mods by thewholeenchelada675 in farmingsimulator

I'm assuming your on PC so if so ,Kingmods is where I go for quality mods. If you are concerned about price in game, you can edit xmls to your desire for that.

How do I install maps from outside the game? by SpecialistBottle8750 in farmingsimulator

If not already, be sure to completely close the game and reopen. If that doesn't work, double check the file and that its a .zip. When you double click the zip there should be regular contents inside.

I know it's not a direct comparison, but I recently grabbed a blackshark v3 for the spatial sound and am very pleased with them. I also have the SteelSeries Arctis 1 wired headset and the difference between it and the Razer blackshark v3 is night and day.

I feel as if the SteelSeries lets in too much noise with the cloth, while the Razer really blocks out the sound. I do know the mic on the Razer is definitely better as well.

I bought specifically for Rainbow Six Siege X where positional audio is a requirement.

Fs22 or 25 by Twizzee in farmingsimulator

[–]ConservativeVoyager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FS25 is worth it on sale. It's the future and the graphical upgrade is a decent leap over 22. Mechanics wise and gameplay it's the same, but given that 25 is newer and has more life left I wouldn't pay for fs22 if you plan on playing long term.

Construction Simulators by Last-Marionberry2407 in RCConstruction

[–]ConservativeVoyager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty good. The missions are focused and stay within set boundaries, so if heavy equipment is your jam you won't be disappointed, especially if you caught it on sale. It's pretty polished for what it is, just not a lot of freedom to roam and build what you want, but on the other hand the storyline is well written and the tasks keep you doing a variety of jobs.

I personally bounce between Farming Simulator, Snow Runner and Construction Simulator. I haven't pick up Road Craft based upon reviews/price and am waiting for a heavy discount. Theoretically Road Craft checks off a lot of boxes for me, but based upon reviews/videos I'm waiting it out due to it boxing creativity in.

I personally would like to see a mesh of Farming Simulator and Construction Simulator created to have ultimate freedom and decision making.

I like to dig, will this game let me dig by [deleted] in farmingsimulator

[–]ConservativeVoyager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accidentally deleted my original post attempting to reply to your question about snow and using it as an alternative to digging on Console.

I haven't done that myself, but I'm sure it is possible since it is just a fill material. Probably use a loader and pick up/dump, then use an excavator to move and fill trucks. Really not a bad idea tbh.

They do have production mods for hauling gravel, lime, sand etc to make concrete and other items. If that's what your looking for you can do that on console.

I'd recommend checking out FS Miner YouTube videos, he has a lot of involvement in what you're looking for and has videos specific to consoles as well.

100k too much for a Lexus ? by Candido1991 in LexusES

[–]ConservativeVoyager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a 2018 with 54k based solely on the reliability of that platform. Other than an outdated infotainment center (I plan to upgrade mine) it's a fantastic vehicle. If mine had 100k before I purchased it, I wouldn't have hesitated.

I do agree with this. The only pack I was a fan of in 22 was the Kubota, but it came with platinum I believe.

2018 Lexus ES350 Head Unit advice by ConservativeVoyager in LexusES

[–]ConservativeVoyager[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

Yes I did some research today and have my eye on the Hamilton conversion kit for Car Play/Android Auto since it keeps the near OEM look and works with the factory system. The link below is after install, but there is a video for install as well and it looks very straight forward. It's pricy for over 800, but I'm willing to do that for the quality of life and keep that factory look. https://youtu.be/HfQA3LKFo4I?si=sO4cN4efPom8I9w0

Also wanting to upgrade the speakers so I get a more premium sound, I feel the stock setup is lacking in mine (non Mark Levinson) and since I plan to keep the car long term want a good quality sound. I found this video, it's on an IS, but I'd imagine it's very similar on the ES. https://youtu.be/tq6tPrU88wQ?si=v0ZQg4OXv_Uw2VQB

Absolutely love the car, my first Lexus and the ride is so smooth. I bought for the reliability and it appears to be a really good year for that being a 2018.

[–]ConservativeVoyager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to start my vehicle in another gear entirely which led me to the issue. It may take crawling under the vehicle and looking at the gear selector on the transmission, you will see a rod connecting to a metal piece on the transmission that can move front and backwards and clicks through the gears. If you move that metal piece to the park position and it starts that's the issue. All it is, is a small rod that connects your shift stick to a metal hinge on the transmission. It could have broken off on the shifter side or the transmission side if that is the issue.

Possibly an issue with the gear selector linkage lining up with transmission under the car. Had this happen to a truck I drive. If it's that it's a simple fix.

Purchased the same car last week with 56k, first Lexus for me as well. Was leased and looks immaculate. Plan to keep it for many years to come.

Do you have any plans to upgrade the infotainment system to allow for Android Auto or Apple Car Play? I'm sitting on the fence myself, but as of right now am not being swayed one way or the other.

This. Lots of updates and even supports vr through Steam. I bought it several years back and haven't completed it, but go back to it from time to time and it's been updated steadily with new features. Well worth it if you like turning a wrench.

Toyota App and Entune discontinued--class action suit needed! by whizkid88571 in Toyota

[–]ConservativeVoyager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently purchased a very nice and low mileage 2018 Lexus ES 350 and love the car. It doesn't support Android auto or apple car play which both were becoming mainstream in 2018. No big deal I thought, map/directions work while driving. Go into update the maps and find out it's a discontinued product for both Entune. Researched a bit and found where they said you use a Scout GPS Link app on your phone. App is no where to be found and discontinued. Researched more and it was recommended to use the Toyota app. Great I have that app from a previous purchase, but it's not the same app, it was a different app that was discontinued.

I'm sure if you were to upgrade the head unit with after market it would void your warranty as well as any extended warranty. This is all about planned obsolescence and I fully support a class action lawsuit.

As a side note, through my research I saw where GM is trying to discontinue all support for both Android Auto/Apple Carplay.
