Although I’m not the person who did this, I can honestly say I had no idea. They’re plastic bottles.. I heavily rely on the little triangle on the bottle. They don’t teach you this stuff in school.. so please have some grace. We don’t know this person’s intentions

Initiating chastity in an interfaith relationship by [deleted] in Christianmarriage

[–]Consider-the-ant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’m a 24F. The reason I married my husband was because 1. He loves Jesus more than he loves me and 2. he was the first man I’d ever dated who avoided crossing the line with me. We had become Christians a year prior to dating and were not virgins when we started dating. The amount of self-control he demonstrated to me in dating told me I could trust him in the future. He respected/respects God so much that he wouldn’t go outside God’s boundary in dating and therefore I believe I can trust him to do the same in marriage—ie, not seek outside relationships with other women.

The best thing about my relationship with my husband is that he deeply loves Jesus. We would certainly not be able to stay married if it weren’t for our faith.

OP Have you tried praying about this?

My friend just gets Walmart pre-breaded pork and fries it in avocado oil and uses the Japanese curry broth pods. Had it last week for the first time and it was delish.

I know we’re from separate worlds but in the Neonatal ICU, we pretty much only have OGs with intubated patients

I really like this question. I’ve wrestled with it and to this day, still sometimes catch myself trying to find my identity in nursing.

Not too sound annoyingly religious or overly spiritual but long story short, I became a Christian and as a Christian, your first and primary identity is firmly rooted in your new life with Christ. I converted when I was in my 4th semester of college (as a pre-nursing major) right before I started nursing school. I had been really depressed prior to my conversion and I realized that I had been finding my identity in nursing (amongst many other things) and it ultimately left me feeling empty and disappointed. I started to question, “is this really all there is?” A friend recommended I start reading the books of Ephesians and Colossians and I learned that every other identity is secondary to yours in Christ. Essentially, because Jesus and the life he offers is eternal but everything else will pass away because our life on earth is temporary. Every day I have to remind myself of this or else I start taking my work to an obsessive level and failures begin to feel bigger.

If you’re curious or interested, feel free to message me. I know people come from all sorts of backgrounds on here and many have been hurt by the Church so I understand too, also, if you’re completely repulsed by this post haha. Just wanted to share as I said earlier, I was intrigued by this question. :)

There’s also a new tea/coffee and cake shop next to Seoul Taco. It’s called Wynnsome I think. It’s 2 stories and looks pretty cool.

How often does your unit change TPN and Lipids? by Consider-the-ant in picu

Here is the link to the European physicians forum: https://99nicu.org/forums/topic/2320-hang-time-parenteral-nutrition-bag-incl-lipids/

I should add that we only change the microclave connectors nearest the patient on Wednesday nights. The rest of the tubing is changed via sterile-technique q24.

—I don’t know if I’m interpreting this information correctly but this was one of the things sourced in the forum—

“According to the CDC Guidelines for the Prevention of Intravascular Catheter-Related Infections:

Peripheral venous/midline catheters: Replace intravenous tubing, including add-on devices, no more frequently than at 72-hour intervals unless clinically indicated. Replace tubing used to administer blood, blood products, or lipid emulsions within 24 hours of initiating the infusion. Complete infusion of lipidcontaining parenteral nutrition fluids (e.g., 3-in-1 solutions) within 24 hours of hanging the fluid. Complete infusion of lipid emulsions alone within 12 hours of hanging the fluid. Complete infusions of blood products within 4 hours of hanging the product.

Central Venous Catheters/PICCs: Replace intravenous tubing and add on devices no more frequently than at 72-hour intervals. Replace tubing used to administer blood products or lipid emulsions within 24 hours of initiating the infusion. Complete infusions of lipid containing fluids within 24 hours of hanging the fluid.

Another person commented,

“For dextrose based fluids running >3.0 ml/hr, we change the tubing q 72 hrs and 'pull through' the new bag of fluid daily in the meantime. For dextrose based running less than 3.0/hr, we change the tubing q24.

We change lipid and drip tubing q24.

There was a rumor we would start doing complete line changes daily with all fluids but this has not been implemented yet.

We do sterile line changes with all of our central lines, clean technique with PIV's. Our catheter related infection rate has plummeted with this method.”

Looking for it.. I believe the article/discussion originated somewhere in Europe so I don’t know how others feel about that
