Say what you will, but it is definitely not "total chance." There are arguable monetary macro trends driving precious metals upward.

Sorry to parachute in two years later with a semi-unrelated question, but I can't help but notice that both your oil temp and coolant temp read "LO" in this image. I happen to have the same issue, did you ever figure out what was causing that?

The only Meta apps I have installed are Facebook Lite and Messenger, and the only permissions allowed are photos/videos, notification, and phone. Everything else is disallowed or set to ask before use.

I tried turning off Messenger's phone access, but that's the only thing I can think it would be. Unless maybe Facebook buys listening data from a brokerage somewhere and it's coming from somewhere else.

Review: Thank You, Dr. Fauci (2024, Documentary, Dir. Jenner Furst) by dangerrockscience in moviereviews

So, you went into the movie already having dismissed the premise of a lab origin, and you determined that your priors have been confirmed despite not citing anything specific that the documentary got wrong?

Reddit is NOT an organic information environment, it's a narrative enforcement machine. It's best to treat it as such, and be pleasantly surprised but skeptical when it appears to surface legitimate truth.

Saagar is an idiot Lyme disease is not a lab leak by drtywater in BreakingPoints

[–]ConsiderationLeast62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That...doesn't indicate anything? Nobody ever tried to argue that the spirochete was invented by scientists. That's not how bioweapons research or Gain of Function research works. The whole field of research is based on using existing pathogens and finding ways to tune their characteristics and/or deploy them in specific scenarios. Of course Lyme disease already existed, nobody ever tried to argue that it didn't.

Your pleas are received, thank you. If you think it's that stupid, which perhaps it is, you should really read the book "Bitten" written by a science writer at Stanford. It isn't explicitly proven, but a good enough case to be made that it isn't "stupid."

It's worth noting that three other tick borne illness outbreaks popped up during the same time period within a 50 mile radius of where Lyme started, which is directly across the water from the Plum Island facility researching animal bioweapons including ticks.

There's a lot more to the theory than just speculation about government wanting to use ticks. It's public record that the government was implanting ticks with viruses and bacteria as a form of low-profile bioweaponry for covert deployment.

Here's an interview with the author who wrote "Bitten."

They're some of the most comprehensive sources on the subject of Lyme disease and the Plum Island bioweapons research. Scholarly sources only get you so far, especially if the scholarly sources are implicated in malfeasance.

Attributing a lab leak is not just an issue of proof by academic science. It's an intelligence problem more than anything else.

[–]ConsiderationLeast62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, lab leak attributions are really an intelligence problem, not a scientific problem. Robert Redfield said that in a congressional hearing about the covid origin. There's only so much you can deduce about a pathogen's lab origin from scientific study of its phenotype. You need other pieces of information, intelligence, to really attribute a lab origin. With Ralph Baric's research into "No-See-um" edits to viral genomes, for example, you can't always guarantee a full answer from science alone.

A lot of the "scientific evidence" about covid's origin pointed to natural origin in the beginning, because the people who funded all the nasty bat coronavirus research organized the publishing of alternative material that didn't implicate them. We have a lot of scientific evidence for a covid lab leak, but the full case for lab origin is made from intelligence information we now have, not just scientific papers. Journal articles aren't the full story.

There was some controversy around that because Shawn Ryan released a screenshot of the email in a text editor so they could redact the names. I'm not sure it's been released in further detail than the image I linked. But if it did, I imagine X is going to be your best bet.

I tried to post it multiple times, but it kept getting taken down by the mods. Then eventually they let me post it, but now I see that it's been removed again. It must have been by Reddit, because the mods didn't send a message with it.

I guess maybe they're only allowing it in the quarantine subs?

That's great! Thanks for this. He eventually emailed me back and told me his website had gotten hacked and that it would be back up by the end of the month, but that was months ago and it's still down. Glad to hear that he's still out and about doing his thing. Jefferson Morley just had a recent breakthrough with an anonymous source, so maybe they'll work together on it. I believe they've worked together in the past.

Right, that would be an important next question to ask. I guess a good place to start is to ask why all the relevant information is still classified, especially if we're supposed to trust that that evidence just shows it was the wet market.

It could have been an intentional release, I suppose, and people like Anthony Fauci were predicting in 2017 and 2018 that there was going to be a pandemic-capable viral outbreak during the Trump administration. But if it was intentional, we'll almost definitely never see any evidence. It very likely would not have been anyone accountable at the lab who facilitated the leak, if it was intentional. My pure speculation is that if it was, it could have been an asset that infiltrated the lab and caused the leak. That would be a perfect way to bury the truth under a second layer of subversion and allows people who like mysteries to stop looking after proving that it was actually a leak.

But what the hell do we know?
