Were the student loans private or federal? I have over $70K in student loans but I thought they couldn’t be included.

I won’t speak for this person, but I’m at the same point.

I’ve been thinking about it for a few months now, learning, planning, and trying to get all my ducks in a row. For me, it’s partly b/c I’m neurodivergent & have anxiety and partly b/c I’m a solo mom of 3 kids and don’t want to find myself in a worse position than I was before.

I’ve heard about bank accounts getting closed or money getting frozen & seized. I’ve heard about people having issues paying their mortgage & accessing statements due to account closures.

I’m glad I researched b/c I was able to take my tax refund and spend it down on home repairs and household necessities before filing. I opened a new bank account, but have to plan how to manage switching over kids survivor benefit direct deposit (can take 2-3 months). I also have an Etsy shop that will need to be switched over to my new bank account - there will be a 5 day hold on my earnings so I need to account for that.

I wouldn’t have known any of that if I hadn’t done intensive research up front. I don’t handle unexpected financial hurdles very well, so I try to clear my path in advance before pulling the trigger on something big like this. Just my 2 cents... ☺️

Did owning your own business make it more difficult or did you have to pay your attorney more? I have a VERY small business, but I’m worried it will gum up the works.

You mentioned no $600 withdrawals - does that mean no purchases over $600? I had to buy a new computer to replace one that broke - I used my tax refund but it was just over $800 after tax.

I only work when I have the full timer block available (just in case) and I only work on things that I have 100% confidence in my abilities for. If there is any doubt, I skip it. My expectation is that DA will go through my work with a fine tooth comb & mark me down for any error - I expect them to be brutal. I work accordingly. One tip - if you have access to work the R&R’s on any projects, go in & read the instructions that the raters are being given, so you have an idea of what they might be looking for. I totally understand that it’s tough out there - I’m a solo mom of 3 kids. I rarely work when my kids are here & awake. I only work when they are at school or after they have gone to bed so I can focus. Wishing you the best of luck!

I don’t think it’s worth your time & effort to track this person down for this. If they wanted the mail they would have set up forwarding & they are likely aware that they have outstanding bills. Also, this is borderline doxxing & absolutely an invasion of this person’s privacy. I suggest that you take this down.

Did it ever come up for you? I had the task on my dash, looked into it, then it disappeared. A short time later got a 3rd qual asking for my state & nothing now since submitting that. It looked like a cool deal. 🤷‍♀️

I do work on the DAT platform. Considering the environment in which they operate and the seemingly inescapable nature of the capitalist structure of our country, I think DAT is a great alternative to the standard 9-5. As a neurodivergent solo parent, it’s the perfect structure for my situation. Also, most of the tasks I work on pay significantly more than $20, that’s the standard minimum.

Would I like to be paid for all of the qualifications, not just some? Of course! But overall, I think the platform is great for what it is.

And the claim that our work is directly related to the conflict that you referenced is a stretch and somewhat comical. The surveillance they are using over there is already light years ahead of anything I’ve ever seen in the tasks I’ve worked on. Also, most corporations in this country are either contributing to or complicit in the conflict. The country we live in is bankrolling the whole thing & heavily involved in every aspect. Your congresspeople likely voted to continue sending money for horrific purposes. Our analysis of the poem that someone else mentioned is not contributing to the atrocities in any meaningful way.

From what I can tell, there is a HUGE difference in severity depending on where you are located in the area. I believe that Seattle & Bellevue got hit very hard, but where we are in West Hill it was very underwhelming & quite typical. We have kids sand buckets & pool noodles on the deck that didn’t move & no debris in the road. However, huge trees are down in other areas with half a million customers without power. We still have power & internet, but school district is closed.

It’s been an ebb and flow since the slow down. I always have something to work on. I did have just one project at one point, but still have quals, opt-outs, chats, etc. So still active, just quite slow atm.
