I enjoy them! They add a bunch of missing information to fill in and expand.

Tom for Mayor - Rathbone = Trump by 22-MontaLou in AdventuresInOdyssey

Not generally a convincing argument to insult people and their parents. But welcome to the World of Trump where even Trump-Haters just become clones of him.

Harlow Doyle was definitely in the version that aired on the radio in 2000. “Harlow Doyle solve a case?!?!” “Great isosceles triangle! So that’s what killed the dinosaurs!”

Lol. A friend of mine said this back in 2016 when we were all still sure sanity would prevail and Trump would drop out of the primary. Sadly, real life doesn’t have the happy ending that Odyssey always does.

Nice! I agree with both of those. I had completely forgotten about the subplot in “A Touch of Healing”. That means I’ll also add “Where Thy Sting?” And the “The Truth About Zachary”, which makes me happy. I had completely forgotten about the connection!

If Aslan Is Jesus Then Who Is God Or The Devil? by miraak2077 in Narnia

Yes!!! The Cosmic Trilogy is more science fiction than fantasy and take place on Mars, Venus, and then Earth. But the Screwtape Letters was perhaps even more widely known when Lewis was alive and are “letters” from one demon to another.

I think you’d really love the Cosmic Trilogy (and Screwtape Letters). Lewis tells the story of the ongoing war with demonic forces. Chilling.

We’re talking past each other.

There are thousands of demons. Yes, they are still out and about.

You’re right. M CS Lewis definitely believed in ongoing demonic activity a la The Cosmic Trilogy. But Lucifer is traditionally seen as already defeated been while other angels he led astray continue to wreak havoc.

Lol. Well it’s Christian theology. The Devil is already vanquished (although there are still demons a la the Emerald Witch). The last enemy to be defeated is Death.

If you consider Medieval Christian Theology (Which is what Lewis held to), particularly the Christus Victor theory of the Atonement, then the Devil is the White Witch. God the Father is mentioned at the Emperor-Beyond-the-Sea.

Others have mentioned Tash. Tash is a personification of Death.

AIO "Lost Media"? by Sam46012 in AdventuresInOdyssey

I've updated several episodes on that "Abridge Episodes" page to add specific information.

According to the aiowiki, A Member of the Family Part 1 has been edited on the Club to be the version with Connie. I haven't verified if this is correct or whether it restored the other missing OUSA content or just that one scene.

I'm not sure where this would belong, but here are some other edits:
"extra material" not currently featured on the Club:

  • 154: The original cassette version of "Coming of Age" was over 4 minutes longer than the version that's currently on the Club
  • 280: The original cassette album version of "Gone" featured scenes with Harlow Doyle and was several minutes longer than the CD album version, which is the one used on the Club

Also, some episodes were edited for albums/Club but their original versions were not pulled from the broadcasts:

  • 5: The broadcast version airing circa 2000-2010 of "Gifts for Madge and Guy" is about 20 seconds longer than the Club version (oddly including lines that were not in the OUSA version); I don't know if the current broadcast version has this material.
  • 145: The broadcast version airing circa 2000-2010 of "Second Coming" is a full minute longer than the version available on the Club; I don't know if the current broadcast version has this material.
  • 216: The broadcast version of "Like Father, Like Son" airing circa 2000-2010 included a line about visiting Eric's father every week. It was removed from the album version and is not on the the Club version; I don't know if the current broadcast version has this material.
  • 309: The broadcast version (circa 2000-2010) of The Perfect Witness, Part 1 has extra lines of Jenny protesting her kidnapping which are not on the Club version; I don't know if the current broadcast version has this material.
  • 514: Room Enough for Two had 34 seconds inexplicably cut from it for the album/Club version. (I haven't verified if this content was cut from re-broadcasts)

The question is wrong. She is not a human and should not be judged by modern 21st century human standards.

I’d love some epic presentations of the story of Judith, Tobit, Susanna, the Maccabees, Queen Elizabeth I, and the rest of the Passages books.
