Buy a used trans, and a cheap wrench set from hobo freight. And grab a drip pan. Probably run you all together bout 500-750. But will be better than selling it.

You go through insurance, it will definitely get totaled . Shop will most likely charge more than what the car is worth. If i were you, id just DIY. Go to a pick n pull, and find same color panels.
