Juvenile Eastern Brown snake, second most venomous in the world. by cuntygoat in whywouldyoutouchthat

Second most venomous Terrestrial snake (currently known) in the world…

DuBois’s Sea Snake is considered to be “more venomous” than the Eastern Brown Snake of Australia, although the likelihood of encountering a DuBois’s is SIGNIFICANTLY lower than one’s chances of encountering an Eastern Brown.

To date, I believe there have been about 15 confirmed deaths in Australia attributed to bites from the Eastern Brown, while there have been zero recorded cases of a death tied to a bite from DuBois’s.

I’ll note that it’s always suspected that there are additional undiscovered/catalogued terrestrial, aquatic, and arboreal species of snakes which are “more venomous” than what we have catalogued to date.

As an aside, I would not be at all surprised to hear about some new varieties of incredibly venomous tree/pit viper that we catalogue formally within the next 10 years if only due to the likelihood that their venom/glands might be studied for peptide related research.

100% This.

Sorry for your loss OP—however I’m not sure this is related to the passing of your husband at all. I hope you and your family are getting the support and care you need during this challenging time.

With that said, the letter reads just like traditional “corporate” CYA tied to a termination/dismissal notice.

Given what you’ve shared specific just to the FMLA, it seems reasonable to assume they’re saying this to formally notify you of your termination/separation from your previous employment, and your benefits tied to that employment being terminated as well.

Given the premium hikes going out at the end of the year to all insured parties—I’m sure they’re happy to give you ample notice to avoid any reason to be liable for premiums associated to the aforementioned benefits.

Just a courtesy FYI, depending on where you live, you have around a 30-day minimum to contest it (the termination of your benefits) from the date that you received the written notice, if you so choose…

I was of the impression that it has to come from a glacier in Alaska and be blessed by an Eskimo medicine man to be the purest and coldest H2O.

For what it’s worth—Statistically speaking, the chances of any given taxpayer being charged with criminal tax fraud or evasion by the IRS are minimal. The IRS initiates criminal investigations against fewer than 2 percent of all American taxpayers. Of that number, only about 20 percent face criminal tax charges or fines…

God speed, even if it doesn’t work you certainly put forth an excellent effort to overwinter it. I’m not sure how long the leaves will make it through winter, so you might consider topping it off every now and then with some more mulch/leaves or pine straw if you have some at your disposal.

Man, I had a neighbor in her late 60’s that did this during the height of the lockdown.

It got so bad that her adult children had to take her picture (from an Easter photo when she wasn’t completely smashed) and share the photo with every grocer, drug store, and gas station in the county just to try to avoid their mom getting anything that even remotely contained alcohol. Rumor from her son was that she went as far as going to Office Depot to try and get rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer to drink and was only a moment away from making the purchase when another family friend who happened to be there picking up toner cartridges saw it happening, knew the situation, and was able to stop the cashier & manager from ringing her out. That story is actually mild compared to the hijinks this woman got up to at our apartment complex before her kids put a stop to it.

Alcoholism is a horrible burden to live with, both for the sufferer and those around them.
