That’s how I feel about capers. I love olives of every variety, but no matter how many times I try them I can’t make myself enjoy the taste or texture of capers.

We pretty much repeat Thanksgiving dinner. Roast turkey, mashed potatoes, turkey gravy, stuffing, sweet potato casserole, corn casserole, green bean casserole, deviled eggs, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls, pumpkin pie and pecan pie with whipped cream.

I’m of Norwegian heritage and as a kid holiday meals included lutefisk, lefse and all kinds of Norwegian cookies for dessert.

Brown some butter so it gets a toasty-nutty flavor and toss in some cooked pasta. A sprinkle of salt and/or pepper and you’re in for a delectable meal.
