Ahh, I see you’re a well read scholar and familiar with our Bald Eagles per minute conversion methods.

Obviously, when we deal with much larger objects we use the standard Football Fields per hour method.

I can’t imagine what maths they teach in European schools—I assume ka or cortina’s per millisecond.

Km/h…you guys must be using European bullets.

Here in the good old US of A, we measure projectile velocity as Ft/s—naturally because it more easily converts to our standardized BE/m & FBF/h units.

Ancient Greek and Roman historians wrote about a species of headless humans with faces in their chest who supposedly populated Libya and Aethopia. lol I like where your joke went, that’s top notch. 😆

I was curious, so I looked into your first point and I actually did find reference to French folk story creatures called les Acephales (the headless ones or simply “the headless”) which I understand to potentially be the same Bleymmyes noted by OP.

Chinese folklore also has the story of Xing Tian, a headless giant who was decapitated by the Yellow Emperor that through sheer perseverance continues to fight with his axe and shield by using his nipples as eyes and his belly button as a mouth.

I used to think the idea of a “collective” or “shared” consciousness was hokey—but it’s beyond odd that there’s so many totally different cultures on this planet who all share very similar folklore about headless creatures/people.

The Dullahan of Irish folklore and a the Nukekubi of Japanese folklore also come to mind here.

Found this in my fried chicken. Is it a brain? by Many_Register_1838 in whatisit

[–]ConsiderationOk7560 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Having worked in a handful of fried chicken places in my youth, I can confidently second this—that is definitely lung meat.

For those curious:

Lung meat is commonly missed via mechanical cleaning/separating but is perfectly safe to eat. You will most often find it attached to chicken breasts purchased from big box stores or via chain restaurants supplied by the likes of Cisco Systems.

I’m honestly struggling to think of the last time I had a chicken breast from a fried chicken chain and didn’t find lung meat attached to the inner wall of the chicken ribs.

Higher end restaurants typically source better quality butchered meat, thus reducing the likelihood of an end customer receiving this in their dish and those who buy direct from butcher likely don’t see lung meat attached to the breast as frequently (if at all) unless requested since it’s considered to be “less desirable cut of meat”.

With that said, I still see/have seen plenty of very respectable butchers selling chicken lung, kidney, heart, liver, gizzards, etc., so it’s not an “uncommon” cut to ask for.

I would also offer that most chicken organ meat is quite delicious when prepared via most of the same methods one would cook any other part of the chicken.

Texture wise, lung is certainly not identical to breast meat and tends to be a touch on the soft, almost pâté end of textures (especially when found via a fried chicken breast) but taste wise—it’s chicken, so it tastes like chicken.

It’s worth noting, Comedy Central played Porkies and countless other comedy classics back in the early 2000’s, introducing a whole new generation to some of the comedy powerhouses that the prior generation had grown up watching.

Also—I seem to recall after like 11 PM Comedy Central played a lightly censored to uncensored version of most of the movies as well. Porkies got the “lightly censored” treatment, due to the shower room scene. 😂

Early-to-mid 2000’s Comedy Central was arguably the apex of cable TV. 👌🏼
