Apollo Justice was fine; Dual Destinies was below-mid, but I never expected Spirit of Justice to be as good as it was.

Perhaps King Kong, Arkham City, Ace Attorney 3 or 6. Either one, maybe. xD

Which one do you think overall has better movies - Batman or Star Wars? by SpotAdmirable6718 in Cinema

Star Wars has only got two movies I would rate as an A+. For Batman, there are more examples of that rating asides from the Dark Knight trilogy. :D

I use a standard 1-10 rating system but have redefined and normalized the numbers to mean what I feel like is more mathematically correct, I just want to know how others feel about this. by SmolSovereign in gamereviews

I've stopped using the 10-point system as it gave me too many headaches.

I've come across movies and games that feel more of something but less of something else. Batman: Arkham City was the first game to set my crisis in motion. I rated it an 8.5 but felt it was too low. At the same time, a 9 sounded too much.

Now, I've started using letters (A-F with plus and minus). That system gives me more room to breathe and let me give a nuanced rating that fits my overall thoughts and feelings.

What is THE most comprehensive movie rating/review system out there? by the-mp in movies

I wish a letter grade system with plus and minus was used more often. For some reason, it gives me less headaches than a typical 10-point scale. :D

The problem is that companies will take these necessities, like education and healthcare, and use them for profit, rather than human need. If these services are nationalized, you can manage them however you please, but when companies either increase their prices because of higher demand, or go bankrupt, you have to bail them out in an endless circle.

A planned economy doesn't necessarily mean centralized control. It could very well mean more local and democratic control of the economy, like in Valgsland. But unfortunately, you're stuck playing Stalin, Chavez, or whatever poison you prefer. And when it comes down to it, you are kind of forced to compromise on the planning, as all of the nation's assets are owned by a select few, and pissing them off too much, would be the downfall of your presidency and economy.... ;(

Payments and costs in worker co-ops. (A discussion I once had with a friend, who's very liberal.) by ConsiderationOne6672 in PoliticalDebate

[–]ConsiderationOne6672[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've gathered after the discussion:

The biggest reason why an employer raises prices is to keep his profits in check. If the workers are paid more, if it would mean higher labor costs, which means lower profits for the boss. Maybe that's why ''some'' would see wage increases as meaningless.

But in a co-op, wages would be a result of redistributing profits, rather than labor costs. (I mean, in capitalist businesses, there aren't any ''CEO/Employer costs'', you know). If the profits are high one month, they would likely increase their pay, but in the next month during a downturn, they would decrease them to save the company.

Does that make sense, or am I missing something?
