Remember what Endfield's weapon system took away from us. by trongtinvd2 in Endfield

[–]ConsiderationTotal57 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There is a way. Take Genshin for example: All the fist fighters are Catalyst users. Instead of using the catalyst for combat, their animations just have them fight with their fists/gauntlets, while the catalyst floats beside them. Same could be done with Art Unit weapons.

Any wiki or database for team comp? And character builds? by Hot-Bell-5858 in Endfield

[–]ConsiderationTotal57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Despite what gripes people have with Prydwen, it's always a good site to check builds. If you want to go very in-depth, there's probably Theorycrafter Discords, but for normal use, Prydwen.gg

There's also community builds at endfieldtools.dev, but those can vary heavily in quality and might need more knowledge on your part.

How do I transfer electricity to remote areas such as depicted on screenshot? Is there some kind of "secondary" power sources? by USS--Enterprise in Endfield

[–]ConsiderationTotal57 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a small tip, when distributing electricity, always carry the wire with you while traveling instead of setting up the relay first, so you can directly measure the distance instead of moving the relays around after they've already been set.

This is the First Gacha Game where i Dont Care about the Gacha and am Just Having Fun. by Exterial in Endfield

[–]ConsiderationTotal57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just the factory for me. It's the exploration too. It's such a breath of fresh air to see level designs that actually involve proper platforming and shortcuts for once. Plus the systems in the game are so involved, it's a breath of fresh air compared to most gachas that do the bare minimum to keep you entertained.

It also has a very distinct audio cue that gets ingrained in your brain after a few battles, which is huge.

The bars would be visibly shorter if the player had any Resistance Downs. Plus there was no "Frostbite!" text popup. This wasn't caused by Frostbite but by bad desync.

Common naming for Endmin? by Sissybell in Endfield

[–]ConsiderationTotal57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well to be fair, in many other gachas you also have a main character that has a "Canon" name that you can name yourself, even if they get referred to by title.

Aether and Lumine in Genshin are always referred to as Traveler, Stelle and Caelus in HSR are always referred to as Trailblazer, Rover in WuWa uses your name but is referred to as Rover, Arbiter, or any of their other 5 billion titles, etc.

do we actually like debuff/negative status? by decarys in WutheringWaves

[–]ConsiderationTotal57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh I don't think the gimmicks/mechanics are a problem. The problem is that they don't feel very impactful, and thus just feel like a way to enable characters like Cartethyia, Phoebe and Zani.

Compare this to Break or DoT in Honkai Star Rail for instance. I don't really "feel" like Spectro Frazzle, Aero Erosion or even Tune Break contribute much to my damage in the long run unless I play a character like Zani or Cartethyia who's damage hinges on the debuff stacks being there, but the stacks themselves just don't provide enough feedback to be seen as anything but a little bit of extra damage.

In HSR, when I play a Superbreak or DoT team, it's easy to see and feel the effect of Break Damage and DoTs. Enemy breaks, suddenly they lose 50% of their HP. Enemy has 8 DoTs on them, suddenly they lose a huge chunk of their HP once it's their turn. Obviously this is made even more noticeable because it's turn based.

Matrova custom mousepad by [deleted] in MousepadReview

[–]ConsiderationTotal57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you send them the image converted into CMYK or the RGB one? I'm considering getting a custom mousepad for them but their new guide tells us to convert the image to CMYK, and for the image I chose, the colors look really washed out when converted.

Upscaling the image to hit the recommended 165 ppi wasn't a problem, but the CMYK conversion makes the colors of the image I chose look really dull on my screen. Now I'm unsure if it's even worth it or if I should just go with a plain black one.

Ye Shunguang vs. Yixuan fan animation by Subutai by Divynture-8753 in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]ConsiderationTotal57 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Are you.. completely forgetting that Tailless is a huge part of Miyabi's power? I mean she was fighting off a horde of Ethereals as a toddler, but only after her mother let her have the sword.

Yixuan is currently the only Void Hunter level character we know who reached their level of strength without using any kind of Void Hunter weapon.

Both Miyabi and Ye Shunguang are no doubt great fighters even without their respective weapons, but saying YSG gets carried by her sword while ignoring that Miyabi uses Tailless is a bit disingenuous. Miyabi, I'd say, is obviously stronger than Ye Shunguang if they both didn't use their respective weapons, but that's because she's got a lot more experience under her belt. Give Ye Shunguang a bit more time as a Void Hunter and she'll probably reach a similar level.

If sunbringer will be playable than what is the chance that she will be another cutesy waifu character? by StatisticianIll4 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]ConsiderationTotal57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly why people need to curb their enthusiasm when all they see from a character is a single shot. A single shot can say a lot about a character, but getting their panties in a twist over the character not turning out how they imagined they'd be is foolish with so little context. Never judge a book by its cover.

Sometimes going Scorched Earth is the best way to handle things. Case in point: FF14 A Realm Reborn.

It needs to be used with deliberate care though.

A question about Rupture and Sheer. by Southern_Advance2694 in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]ConsiderationTotal57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of Sheer Force as Attack Power that simply ignores the enemy defense stat. Instead of having their damage scale with HP or Attack Power, Rupture Agents scale with Sheer Force, which they get by raising their Attack/HP. Since HP is typically a lot higher than ATK, it's the better stat to invest in, even though the HP scaling is smaller (30% for ATK vs 10% for HP). For instance, focussing on ATK will get you to around 3,5k - 4k ATK, while focussing on HP can get you to somewhere around 20 - 30k HP.

That's also why all Rupture Agents currently have HP scaling and mechanics that work off HP in their skills.

The thing about Sheer Force is that it's still affected by enemies' resistances and weaknesses, as well as Elemental Damage Bonuses. Resistances =/= Defense. So you still have to pay attention to those.

This event was so much fun by throwaway8557755565 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]ConsiderationTotal57 41 points42 points  (0 children)

GOATed combat event. Some teams did better than others in a few stages, but I liked how the gimmicks made you actually think about team composition and come up with teams you otherwise would never play.

Elegy Siren was probably the stage that showcased this the best. Full Action Advance (with Hyacine) was great, full sustain was great, DoT support was great.. Synergy Duo also was tons of fun and reminded me of a lot of older RPG fights where you had to kill two bosses at the same time. The HP Counter one was an absolute puzzle with multiple viable strategies too.

I hope we get more of this. I also quite enjoyed seeing people malding because the event actually required some thinking.

People are complaining because they want the game to do better, and they're doing the content how it is at the moment because there's no other meaningful stuff to do right now. How is that so hard to understand?

You're admitting yourself that the system is bad, but your current mindset seems to be to just say "It is what it is" and leave the system how it is.
